I don't understand Soul Sacrifice numbers. Has it sold 92K or 105K ?

Nice perf for Vita BTW.

Media Create splits SS into the single game and then the double pack (22k)

Oh ok thanks. But 22K double pack = 44K single game no ? So SS sold 136K ?

First of all, wow at Far Cry 3. That was the biggest surprise this week. It looks like there are some types of FPS that can sell in Japan. It totally decimated Crysis 3. I wonder if there was some kind of advertising gap between the two?

A good week for the Vita. Not incredible, but definitely positive. Hopefully it can start to grow a bit and generate some good word of mouth. It definitely has games now, at least in Japan. I'd like to see sales of Soul Sacrifice stay strong, as well.

As for the Wii U, there isn't a lot to say. It might lose to the PSP this week.

Will the PS3 beat the 3DS? It might be close.

I wonder how many digital copies of SS were purchased.

From past trends, the digital sales are around 20-40x the number of PSN ratings for early sales. SS currently has about 900 ratings which means it should have sold 18k digital minimum, but could have gone up to 36k as well.

120k for a new IP in Japan on a "dead" handheld doesn't seem so bad. I reckon lifetime Western sales will be better.

I will take the Vita > 3DS as a small moral victory this week. There will be the same naysayers who will downplay whatever success the system had this week and you know what, thats ok. The system responding to game releases with stable sales is really the best that can go for any system. You are going to continue to see small developers publish games on the system and a couple of big titles here and there. At 61k, i still think the system is supplied constrained because no retailer carried it fully (due to its prior abysmal sales). Even though April is looking empty and sales will be returning to a new normal, hopefully its late spring, summer and fall lineups will start to materialize.

Nice.

Any idea on how the word of mouth for SS is? Is it positive so far?

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Holy crap Vita! It's like the system came back from the dead!

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Woah. Didn't expect that to happen at all.
