Forums - Movies & TV - The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull > The Temple of Doom

I am watching Crystal Skull right now on my local channel and I was reminded of this.

Is there anyone in here that finds the Crystal Skull better than The Temple of Doom from Indiana Jones?

The Indiana films go like this for me:

Raiders of the Lost Ark > The Last Crusade >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Crystal Skull>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>The Temple of Doom

I never got to like Temple of Doom at all and I even enjoy Crystal more than that film in spite of some of the cringe-worthy stuff in it.

Anyone else feels the same?

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Heeeeell no

Agreed.
It annoys me that people complain about Crystal Skull being "unrealistic" when Temple of Doom had (A) a man remaining alive by supernatural means after his heart was ripped out of his body, (B) a working voodoo doll, and (C) a woman hanging about a meter above lava and remaining alive and unscathed.

I still like Temple of Doom more than Crystal Skull because of Short Round and Willie. Comic gold. But I really like Crystal Skull and I think people give it too much crap. The only part of the movie I didn't like was the Swinging Moneys part. It was only a few seconds so I don't mind it much. It was a fun adventure and that's what the Indy movies are. Big B-Movies.

Willie ruined Temple of Doom, she's one of the most unbearable, unlikeable character ever.

Right.

The one with punk from Transformers?

No.

I wouldn't say I hated it, but I definitely think it was the weakest of the lot. Short-Round > rebel without a clue.

Nope, Temple of doom is actually my most watched Jones movie, pure adventure comedy.
The others all muck about with soldiers, but Sean Connery wins it for the last crusade.

The last crusade > Temple of doom > Raiders of the lost ark > digital nonsense skull.

The main critisizm about the Crystal Skull is its veering from everything being religous in nature to all of a sudden "aliens"

People can bitch all they want about CG, whether something is realistic or not, whether someone should have died or ect.  The fact is the first 3 movies all felt like they were in the same realm of possibility story wise.  Then all of a sudden #4 jumps in and goes "boom aliens"  Kind of doesn't fit into the first 3's lore.

For example, lets look at The Hobbit.  It got a crap load of critisizm from people for various reasons, length, dragging, cg ect.  But it did not get bitching about ruining lore.  If Aliens showed up in the Hobbit, you can bet there would have been rioting and probably a revolutionary war.  That's what Crystal Skull felt like to me.  Tossing aliens in the Lord of the Rings.  It doesn't fit the lore.
