| curl-6 said: Agreed. It annoys me that people complain about Crystal Skull being "unrealistic" when Temple of Doom had (A) a man remaining alive by supernatural means after his heart was ripped out of his body, (B) a working voodoo doll, and (C) a woman hanging about a meter above lava and remaining alive and unscathed. |
The main critisizm about the Crystal Skull is its veering from everything being religous in nature to all of a sudden "aliens"
People can bitch all they want about CG, whether something is realistic or not, whether someone should have died or ect. The fact is the first 3 movies all felt like they were in the same realm of possibility story wise. Then all of a sudden #4 jumps in and goes "boom aliens" Kind of doesn't fit into the first 3's lore.
For example, lets look at The Hobbit. It got a crap load of critisizm from people for various reasons, length, dragging, cg ect. But it did not get bitching about ruining lore. If Aliens showed up in the Hobbit, you can bet there would have been rioting and probably a revolutionary war. That's what Crystal Skull felt like to me. Tossing aliens in the Lord of the Rings. It doesn't fit the lore.
