I also ask in here.

Isn't the market share (in units)
PS3 - 31%
Wii - 16%
Xbox 360 - 11%
according to this: http://www.adese.es/images/pdf/balanceok2013.pdf

instead of PS3-43% ; Wii-18% ; Xbox360-14% as that other article states ?
Even if it was value it wouldn't be correct.

the 43%, 18% and 14% for ps3, wii and 360 is for revenue without pc software, the marketshare you posted is for sold units and includes pc software.

aaah I understand it now. It's software, consoles+handhelds but no PC, but it's value and not units.

Not much decline at all then in one of Europe's biggest markets. Further evidence for 2012 sales in Europe for PS3/360 being undertracked.

Also, holy shit at the amount of PC games sold! Does this include digital? I assume it does

And wow @Spain! PS3 with 43% of the *total* market. Crazy. Wii also above 360 hmm?

I thought it would be higher...

tiny market though isnt it...

That's over triple 360 and 2.4X Wii.

57% of current gen consoles vs. 19% (360) and 24% Wii. Domination in the truest sense.

What were you expecting, 70%?

Updated now.

What you described turned out to be software and value.
Since Wii and 360 are easier to hack they seem to be rather close hardware wise. Or they did even better in previous years (Wii surely did).

Yes.

your pc gaming  market is so small (probably still some players because of pirating like in every other country as well but still)

Actually i´m portuguese, not spanish, but that´s ok.

Yeah, console software represents  93% and PC only 7%. Piracy rules both in Portugal in Spain, downloading PC games from internet is seen as morally acceptable.

Not only piracy affects that, the fact that publishers like FX Interactive launches their games, with not the text translated into spanish but also the voices dubbed to spanish for 19.99 € and then reduced to 9.99 € after 6 months (take note Square-Enix), makes that consoles games sold for 69.95 € make most of the total revenue.

Also let's not forget that, while it's not something that most people do, there are many gamers who buy their games, their physical games, through english stores like zavvi, amazon, play, etc.  because the prices over there are a lot better than here (GoW: Ascension 49 € at Zavvi but 69.95 € at most retail stores here, for example).

Please excuse my bad English.

Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Current gaming PC: R5-7600, 32GB RAM 6000MT/s (CL30) and a RX 9060XT 16GB

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

wow, mobile gaming in Germany is already shrinking despite growing userbase. If the sales have peaked maybe some people will stop acting like smartphone gaming will completely take over and consoles will simply die...

Maybe this whole online gaming trends will slow down and we will get back our splitscreen coop-modes. I don't think that many people are willing to buy a second tv, a second console and a second game only to be able to play with their wives...

indeed, in germany there are also many who buy their games on zavvi and so on. probably also a reason why the uk gaming market looks always that big, many sales to european countries.  i bought minimum 40 games in uk stores this gen

I am constantly checking http://konsolenschnaeppchen.de/ and have ordered Gears of War 1 and 2 via amazon UK - shipment was 1 day longer than amazon DE :)

Same here, 90% of my games were bought from the UK, there´s no point  buying almost twice the price where i live.
