Forums - Gaming - How have your video game systems broken?

SNES - Worked great until I moved to N64, no idea if it still works.
N64 - I must have been like 8, so 1996ish? Still works.
PS2 - slim, still works. I think it was purchased in 2003.
Wii - still works, um 2008?
PS3 - phat, not launch, still works.

No problems at all, I take good care of my systems.

Of all the systems I've owned, only the NES gave me trouble. It technically wasn't broken, but after a few years of ownership, it would sometimes take a 20 minute ritual of blowing into the cartridge, and playing with the Power and Reset buttons to get a game to properly start.

Even though they tell you not to, really you just want to take a cue tip and some weak cleaning alchohol.  Cleans things up real well.

PS1,PS2,PSP,PS3,360 (old model DIED) and 360 S = one failure 360 old model

I've only ever had one console die on me. My PS2 got the dreaded Disc Read Error. My GameBoy Colour (Lime green) is still working as well as ever, as is my GBA SP. My PS3 works just fine as well; the original 60 GB launch model with full BC. My PSP also works well, though the batter can't hold a charge very well anymore.

Same here.  The NES was an absolute pain in the ass.  I felt like a member of the bomb squad when I changed carts, trying to get it exactly right.  That could be beyond frustating.

They haven't lol
Had a PSone since 98, a PS2 since 01, a PS2 slim since 04, a phat PS3 that I traded in in 2010, and now I have my slim from 2010 and it's chugging along just fine.

All my other systems work fine. PS1, PS2 slim, Gamecube, Wii, PS3 you name it.

PS1 (launch) - still working, although shakily and doesn't read certain disks.
PSOne (launch) - still working perfectly
PS2 (launch) - still working perfectly
GBA (second hand) - still working perfectly
GC (second hand) - still working perfectly
Wii (original; not launch) - still working perfectly
PS3 (fat; not launch) - still working, although some disks can cause it to make a lot of noise
PSV - still working perfectly

Nothing has broken for me, guess I'm really lucky. I suspect my PS3 will die at some point, though.

I've owned a SNES, GB, GBC, GBA, GBA SP, DS LITE, 3DS, GEN, PSone, GCN, Wii, PS3 SLIM, N64, GG.

I've only had two systems actually break. My SNES temporally broke. Because I used one of those all in one third party AC adapters on it. But they didn't make it so you couldn't reverse the swapping head terminals. So I blew out the fuse. Took the fuse out and just sodered a wire to make it work again.

My second is the DS Lite. I got unlucky to have the ones with the hinge failure. It broke the top screen ribbon cable.

Everything else still works to this day. My GameBoy was hit by a car. Works like a charm.
