Forums - Sales - The slow death of Majesco...maybe this time it's the HD twins fault?

Majesco seems to be in a world of hurt lately.  The company is no longer giving guidence for their earnings and has received notices about their stock price from NASDAQ for being under a dollar for 60 days (delisting notices).  A lot of their siutation sounds like THQ.

The prevailing thought on THQ is that development of Wii centric games on HD consoles was what lead that company to  go bankrupt.  I personally contend that notion as being silly and it was a combination of events that led to its downfall.

We now revisit the same with Majesco.  If you look at the games they published (list from VGC link below), you will see that HD representation is virtually zero yet the stock continues to struggle.  Im sure if this company goes under, somehow Sony and Microsoft would be blamed.

Not my fault. I bought the fuck out of Double Dragon: Neon.

Majesco basically lived and died on Nintendo hardware. Still, how can you have a product like Zumba and not make money?

maybe too high licence fees. seems like everything they make is a licenced game, if movie or zumba licence lol

When your most note worthy games are Zumba Fitness and Cooking Mama you deserve to fail. Of course they also brought the world Psychonauts, and Blood Rayne so I feel bad.

Here is what they should have done Zumba Fitness, like 4 Cooking Mama games, Blood Rayne Betrayal (Awesome game), Psychonauts port for PS3 as well as 360. A boy and his blob and that is about it. Instead they got 100 plus worthless titles and loss millions on the flop that was Udraw. Take that approach the company would still be strong today. Instead someone is going to get the Blood Rayne ip for cheap.

That could certainly be part of it.  THQ was heavy into licensed games, as well.  Wasn't it EA who recently said they were pulling away from that type of product?

If Cooking Mama disappears forever I'm quitting gaming!!

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Cooking Mama on WiiU would be cool, imagine using the gamepad to chop brocolli and stuff =D

not sure what ea said but i know that many magazines always said one reason why many games with a movie licence are so bad or average is because the fee is so high that there is not much left to invest in the game
