This site has always been about 50% Sony, 30% Nintendo and 20% MS. It has been like that since the day I got here.

Take a look at http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/forum-index.php#content, the Sony forums have the lead over Nintendo in terms of number of threads, and nearly double MS.


In January, the PS3 was voted as favourite console by nearly 50% of VGChartzers responding to the poll, and there have been many such polls throughout VGChartzs history. This poll was taken when the WiiU was doing well, and the PS4 not talked about.

I really hope this was a joke thread and I am missing something? VGChartz is, and always has been, amongst the most pro Sony website (excluding those with PS or Sony in the Url)

This website was full of year of the PS3, wii is doomed, 360 is doomed threads for this entire generation, of course this site is going to be pro vita and pro PS4.

Is it possible that the site has become more of a Sony majority since the PS4 announcement (and Vita pricecut)? Sure, Sony news will always draw a mostly pro Sony crowd. But Sony has always had more supporters on this site.

It's generally been the case that Sony fans held the majority, but the Nintendo fans held a plurality of the leadership positions

When I got here, practically every other thread was about the Vita. It was a pretty hateful atmosphere, I thought. I won't lie, it really did bug me to see some Nintendo fans say that they loved that the Vita was failing, like that one guy who would post that in all the sales threads, or the other one who was always posting about "karma".

Since the Wii U's troubles, though, things seemed to have calmed down somewhat. Increased feelings of empathy, perhaps.

The major hot button topic seems to be Live, though that's always been the case throughout the internet. I think PS+ has given the Playstation crowd new ammunition, along with the PS4 announcement.

In the earlier days of the site, i found that the majority of active posters were pro Nintendo than anything else. With sony fans being a relatively close second.

OT; No, i haven't noticed a shift at all. The site has been majority Sony fans for the last 3 or 4 years or so.

Its always had a majority of Sony fans, they're just more vocal due to the PS4 announcement hence why you've suddenly noticed them.

What power? This is a site where people post news or opinions or just reference to news and opinions and then there is a community of people that comment and mess around wasting time.

The sales numbers used to be appealing when they were accurate, but now since a lot of sales happen digitally and because the NPD numbers don't get revealed and accounted... that data has become less and less accurate and also sales in general are just down and depressing. I would say less people are on here participating because the content is less engaging.

I would agree with this.  I think the split is close enough to not matter.  On any given day, depending on who logs on, either side can hold the majority.  It's just that with the Nintendo side, the 3DS faction is probably more popular than the Wii U faction, so it can seem kind of fractured.
