Is TVii out yet? If so, how does it run. Can you watch tv on it, or is it like netflix and hulu?

Idk I've never used it.
TVii is something that I believe most people don't know that it exists.

I tried it. It seems quite cool, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to line up well with my cable provider. I live in the country in Canada so I think that's the problem. If I still lived in the city it would work much better. I don't have a huge need for it though, I'm quite fine using my TV remote.

yes, it is out on north america. I have the same problem that TheLastStarFighter has, it seems the guide doesn't line up with my cable provider, but when it does it just happens to be useful to watch TV series or movies that I never hear before. Netflix may improve it vastly because most of the good TV series are available on it rather than Hulu or Amazon.
Don't have a Wii U yet, but wondering.
Will I be able to sync this up to my DirecTV box like I can with a universal remote? Or is it just able to change channels on the tv, so only useful to those with Cable and not Satellite

It's a combination of TV guide and remote control. So no, you don't actually watch TV on your Wii U in any way. It's useless for me, because I'm a cable cutter with no intention of watching TV on the networks' schedule and the remote function won't control my tuner, soundbar, or Apple TV.

Yea, if you don't have cable TV then TVii is pretty much worthless. I have Netflix and Hulu+. I search on their apps if I want to look for something. TVii recommends shit from Amazon (if you could exclude individual streaming apps you don't have that would be a start) that I don't want to pay for to watch. Pretty much it should only bring in content from apps that you pay for (select).
You guys should try ZEEBOX. It's a tv companion app, sounds like the smartphone version of TVii.
It's actually pretty cool, you can use it as a real time TVGuide and get info on shows, chat on facebook/twitter in real time with fellow viewers and get tons of info on every show that's currently on as well as background info on the shows production.
