Forums - Sony - Why I Love PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale More Than Super Smash Bros.

Brawl is a much bigger and better game. However, in my opinion the core gameplay of All Stars is substantially better than Smash. Oh and for those asking if he's even played smash, have you even played Royale?

....Ok? Final Smashes anyone?

I know there similar but it just doesn't feel the same. With a final Smash its like getting a level 3 super, its just implied your going to kill everyone but when you kill everyone with a level 2 or especially a level 1 it just feels awesome. Jak has probably the worst level one so getting a triple kill with it take perfect timing unlike a final smash.

Ok you really have no idea what you're talking about.

Enjoy wallowing in your ignorance.

Sorry my opinion differs from yours. I just don't find Smash as enjoyable as All-Stars and its not like i'm trying to convince you that All-Stars the best fighter ever. Thats why the subject title says why "I" love playstation all-stars battle royale more than super smash bros. Key word is "I" as in me.

You apparently didn't buy enough copies of the game alone tho to keep the company behind the games doors open tho, the general thoughts and reviews to it was that it was an okie game but just missing so much content and polish that would have bought it up to smash brothers levels of enjoyment and been far better value for money.

The main great things about smash brothers is they're literally a museam for 25 years of Nintendo in gaming, the masterpiece portion, the music, stages, characters, throphies... everything about it was first a showcase of all their great stuff and on top of that built a fighting game. Playstation All-stars was just a bit of a reminder that Sony first party characters are just slightly less known than their 3rd party great games added to this that almost 1/4 of the roster was made up of advertisments for upcoming multiplatform games in DMC, MGS rising and Bioshock infinite, there was little room left to make a museam of Sony Glory especially considering that the Playstation 3 game had to be made with the Vitas restrictions in mind.

Have you actually played Smash?

Yes I have and it's one of my favorite game series but in my opinion it's not as good as All-Stars. Sorry to disappoint you.

I'm not disappointed at all, I just found your statement in the OP to be very strange since you make it sound like it's impossible to kill all other players at once in Smash and feel satisfied about it which would be entirely false, considering that most final smashes can't one hit kill anything. I can seriously careless about your preference, it's more the wrong statement that bothers me.

There I edited the OP to further clarify what I meant. I honestly didn't mean it to sound so one sided lol

Hmmm, let's see,

  • -in Smash when everyone but you are over 100% dmg, you can kill them all with the one move like Pikachu's thunder for example if you time your moves right or kill all 3 one by one and feel like a god.
  • -Final Smashs
  • -What about hammers? Holding a hammer and seeing everyone run away from you and insta killing them all.
  • -Same for Baseball bats, but harder than hammers especyaly in Brawl.
  • -Using the terrain at your advantage and throwing all 3 into something that kills them all makes you feel like a genious.
  • -Some other moves that can easely kill everyone if you time it right and especyaly if your lucky (Luigi's and Jigglipuff's B.up or Mr.Game&Watch lvl9 B move)
  • -Seeing everyone go at it and trowing a bomb at them from a distance, killing everyone in the process.

And more importantly, when you kill everyone, sometimes the crowd start cheering your name. If that does'nt make you feel like a baws, nothing will.

So yes, your argument is pretty invalid, if this is the only reason you can find on why you prefer PSABR over Smash, then you are most likely fooling yourself because you need to convince yourself that Sony's game is better than Nintendo's. I don't think anyone with a unbiased mind can find PSABR to be better than Smash.

Persona 5 can't get here soon enough... I wish Atlus would throw me a bone and give a trailer or SOMETHING to tide me over.

-The crowd chant your name in smash bros when you are on 150%+ damage not for killing people

-Game and watchs hammer is towards+B, neutral b = bacon

-Jigglypuffs down B (rest) and Luigis up B are not based on luck in the slightest, if you jump right into the core of an enemy you will get that ping sound and the massive hit from them, Perhaps you meant Luigis Towards and B move which does have the 12% chance of misfiring and exploding.

Sorry but after 1000 odd hours of smash bros had to correct :o Rest is spot on tho, altho I will give OP one thing... Summoning out Kuma with Heihachi and joining him as he dances after killing everyone is a pretty class feeling :) but still... not quite as good as using someones head as a steping stone to get yourself back on the stage in smash bros. Just doesn't compare.
