Forums - Gaming - EA refusing a refund when they already said they would via press release.

My last EA game was either Battlefield 1942 or SimCity 4, so I'm confident in saying that I wont have any troubles with this...

Which indirectly helps my point. Your boycotting EA means next to nothing, because your EA purchases are next to nothing. Meanwhile, the folks who have been keeping EA afloat all these years will likely continue to plunk down their money for the next Sports game/Bioware title/other EA game.

I also didn't give a shit about Steam until I had to use it with Civilisation V, and now I have hundreds of titles I otherwise wouldn't have had.

It's not that they lost somebody who didn't buy many games, it's that they lost potential growth.

This is exactly why I don't want the industry going digital only.

I think I am going to play some classic SimCity now.

That's a service, not a publisher. Unless you're proposing that EA will suddenly start making games that appeal to you in the future, there's not really much relation.

You're saying that EA's Origin isn't like Steam?

EA do make money from all games on Origin, whether they're EA published or not...

Forgive me, I misunderstood you earlier. I thought you were directing your attentions to EA games, not Origins.

My mistake! Carry on!

If someone payed full price for a game and he can't play it, he should get a refund. No matter what. I can't believe there are people who oppose this!

Plus, saying a nationality comment to get a point accross is the dumbest thing I've seen and it shows the low education of the person who does it.

I mean

“if you regrettably feel that we left you down, you can of course request a refund for your order.”

Doesnt say they will give you one tho....

Still pretty shitty.  I got a refund for Diablo 3 because I wrote them saying how disappointed I was with taking 2+ days off work to play the game and having it unaccessible for 80% of that. (didnt even ask for a refund)

Everyone who didn't rush out to buy this game should wait a few months for the smoke to clear before deciding whether to get this game or not. By then I'm sure quite a few of you will have lost the urge to play, just like what happened to Diablo 3 (at least for me). Save 60$ and don't reward anti-consumer practices like this.

Guys, you have to remember that EA is a very small company. They're barely getting by; they haven't the funds or manpower to offer refunds to customers unable to utilize their products/services.
