I'm still plugging away offline. I'm liking Switch Axe too much, so I'm building a mighty arsenal of axes such as the ages have never seen before. Which means I been farming a lot. I couldn't tell you how many times I killed Lagiacrus this weekend.

Plesioth and especially Pink Rathian are really getting through to me though, so I think it's time to look at crafting a tougher suit of armor. I'm at 7 star quests now, and so far Rath Heart is the only suit that really appeals to me (the idea of farming Pink Rathian does not appeal :P). Any other armour suggestions?

Honestly haven't been playing this for a couple weeks now. I should start getting back into it, but other 3DS games taking so much of my time.

Antiseptic skill prevents the goo from sticking in the first place.  But it sounds like you're using a non-rolling weapon like a Lance?  I switched to Long Sword and it went really smoothly, no trouble with him since.  Well, the two G-rank Brachys urgent quest was pretty nerve-wracking to solo...

Finally found a friend who plays this game on his 3DS. Tried finding a copy at local shoppes but everyone was sold out. Will try to order online and join in the hunt.

Took it easy today, doing the junkier offline quests (goldenfish, herbivore eggs), as well as totally pwning Gigginox with my Wroggi S armor and Red Tail Lance. Should be able to get to Barioth soon, who is my offline goal for the moment. Funnily, Barroth is the one i'm after online.

omg after farming steel uragaan for days and never dropping even one 's. uragan scute' he dropped 5, lol 5 in my last capture ...
now got my 'Dios Tailhammer+' weapon and the next upgrade is in G-Rank ... So either lvling my hunterrank to farm brachydios in g-rank or should I get a better armor ...
still wearing my 'Jaggi S' armor ... like the 'Attack up L' (gemmed) on it and the 'no stun', but the defence is bad ...
only got 335 defence ... maybe thats to low for g-rank ...

btw still hr1 ... finding groups to lvl up is kinda hard in that low hr ... maybe I will just solo them to hr4 ...

I am now up to HR7.

The next couple of days I'll probably be doing stuff off line like completing the 6 star quests and getting resources to trade with the Argosy Captain.
