Perhaps that's true for some people. I wouldn't say so though, for myself.

There haven't been a shitton of Uncharted or Gears of War games, for example, and I don't like either of those series at all. I wouldn't say either is milked, by any means. Resident Evil? That's closer to milked. I used to like RE, the OLD games, because while I'm not huge on zombies, they were good survival horror games (despite the clunky controls). I haven't been a fan of the series over the last many entries though, and I think they are just kind of milking it now.

I wouldn't be suprised if New super mario U was the the last ever NSMB game, the series has quickly become stale. There will no doubt be other 2D mario's in the future but i think they won't be under the name of NSMB. I expect the future 2D mario games to be rebranded.

maybe, but the name super mario bro's is really really strong. i dont think it would be a good marketing idea

for me its when the a once great series becomes below average and they keep releasing irritations w/o addressing the issues that made it below average

if the series is still good i dont mind annual releases, ex. of milking resident evil and NFS

many if not all fans of RE want the old survival horror yet we still havent got it, many fans of NFS want customization, street racing and good cop chases yet we dont have it
