And there won't be another New super mario for another 5 years when the sucessors to the 3ds and wii u are released.

we will have to wait and see, nintendo did release 2 3D mario games on Wii, so these things arent set in stone.

I wouldn't be suprised if New super mario U was the the last ever NSMB game, the series has quickly become stale. There will no doubt be other 2D mario's in the future but i think they won't be under the name of NSMB. I expect the future 2D mario games to be rebranded.

maybe, but the name super mario bro's is really really strong. i dont think it would be a good marketing idea
