Forums - Gaming - Does anyone else HATE having to wiggle the analog stick to break free of an enemy?

I´m currently playing Metal Gear Rising, fighting this bastard

And a lot of his moves, if they hit you, require you to furiously wiggle the left analog stick to break free....I fear I´ll end up breaking the controller, because the frequency that happens is just too much in this particular fight.

You have not learned how to evade, it seems. :3 Don't let him grab you.

You would think, having sixaxis, you would shake the whole controller as I think that is a decent application for sixaxis, as long as it isn't too long or require you to shake it way to hard. But yeah, wiggling/spinning analog sticks got old back on the N64. So many worn out controllers.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

i hate when i have to do that too

I hate it. I hate anything that has to do with button-smashing or wiggling the stick. It would be a nice mechanic if it wasn't always stupidly intense. It's just not fun, it's annoying and slightly disorienting.

It's a drag but I'll wiggle anything Platinum tells me to as long as I get to cut what I want.

I don't like any waggling in video games...

I really dislike actions like that. I consider them to be what an old teacher of mine called "busy work", which were worksheets she gave us when she didn't feel like teaching. We had a big disagreement about that, where I refused to waste my time on something that added zero value for me. She failed me, even though I had one of the highest test averages in the class, but I emerged with my dignity intact.

Uh, what was I saying?

Oh, yeah. Reminds me of a moment in Crysis 2 that made me rage so very hard. There was a lonnnng cut-scene, long enough that I actually put the controller down in front of me to watch. Then, suddenly, out of nowhere, we're supposed to do some QTEs to save ourselves, including "climbing". It caught me by surprise, I died, and had the do that level again, including the long cut-scene. Argh!

I don't even know what the topic is anymore ...

I'm sleepy.

I hate wiggling and waggling and all forms of QTE's, its cheap game design in my opinion. Resident Evil 6 is the worst of all when it comes to this.
