you do realize that at the current state gears will have more US pre-orders than GoW right?

God of War Ascension will have close to 100k pre-orders next week and the week after that. every game picks up in pre-orders near it's launch and God of War is HUGE in the USA.

I think GOW:A will reach similar numbers to GOW3.   I think 30-40k pre-orders can be added the next week :)

The reason for the boost is because MS have kind of changed their strategy for hyping games. They focus live streams and dashboard premiers only found on the actual console.

The GOW:J premier on the dashboard yesterday highlighted two world exclusives. The game looks incredible. I expect preorders to rapidly pick up as a result of this.

I expect 500K in total.
