Forums - Nintendo - Epic Mickey 2 WiiU

When i bought my WiiU premium i got Epic Mickey 2 bundled in with Nintendoland, which i thought was great as i really enjoyed the original Wii game. Finally i have got around to playing it and i have mixed feelings about it. Now there is nothing wrong within the game itself, the storytelling, characters and humour stay close to the original game, and it has nice crisp HD graphics that are obviously a step up from the Wii. What really bugs me about the game is, due to it being a rushed port the framerate is terrible at times. It is playable, but i am really finding it difficult to deal with the framerate problems, which is a shame because had the framerate held up pretty well i would have scored it a solid 7/10. I will soldier on and complete it as i am a completionist and im enjoying the game itself, but i may pick it up the Wii version sometime in the future..has anybody played the Wii version, and can give me their honest opinion of it?

Around the Network

People in general didn't like the game, so I shied away from it. Why did you spend money on it when there were many other great games out, and this one got criticized so much?

@isawYoshi -It was free with my WiiU bundle along with Nintendoland so technically i didnt go into a store to specifically buy it. Also it didnt add much to my overall cost of my WiiU, it is a shame because the game itself is ok.

I'm a big Epic Mickey fan myself (one of my favorite games this generation!), and I was also disappointed with how the Wii U version of Epic Mickey 2 turned out. While the framerate is definitely sub par, my biggest beef with the game is its lack of WiiMote/Nunchuck controls. Playing the game with the GamePad isn't necessarily a bad thing, but the gameplay mechanics were pretty much built around the pointer mechanics of the WiiMote.

All in all the game is fine, but there's way too many missed opportunities in The Power of Two. I've heard that despite the lack of graphical finesse, the original Wii version was the way to go.
