Forums - Nintendo - What could Nintendo realistically do to get you to buy one of their systems.

Some people have a lot of resevations in regard to Nintendo. I do think that Nintendo makes some mistakes that are fixable.

So, for those of you who don't have a current Nintendo system, and don't plan on getting one, what could nintendo realistically do to sway you?

Whether it be a certain type of game, feature, etc. If you are not inclined to touch a Nintendo system, what would change your mind?

Wii U - cut the price. Right now it's way too expensive for what it offers on the hardware front. I got my PS3 320 GB for 175 Euro. I won't pay 400 Euro for a console that's only slightly more powerful and doesn't even have a disc.

3DS - redesign it to include two sliders. I'd go for an XL version of such a console.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

Significant price drop.

I was walking down along the street and I heard this voice saying, "Good evening, Mr. Dowd." Well, I turned around and here was this big six-foot rabbit leaning up against a lamp-post. Well, I thought nothing of that because when you've lived in a town as long as I've lived in this one, you get used to the fact that everybody knows your name.

Just curious, but why do you think the 3DS needs 2 sliders? Most of the games developed for it are designed with only 1 slider in mind. If after a few years, Nintendo doesn't give any indication of adding this, will you change your mind?

I have already bought the 3DS since it will have Pokemon and quite a few other JRPG/Japanese games.

I don't think they can do anything to make me buy the Wii U. For a home console, I want it to be powerful and a step up from previous gen. Wii U is just not as powerful as I was hoping a next gen console would be. And it doesn't have any gimmicks to go for it either. So maybe next gen they can fix that and get 3rd party support, then maybe.

That's just something I want from the handheld. They will redesign the console, it's Nintendo we're talking about and this is the kind of change that would make me buy it. I don't want to buy that absurd cradle, but I want to have two sliders. That's why I decided to go for Vita instead of a 3DS (mind you - I've never even had a PSP!). If they don't do it, I'm only going to buy a 3DS if it gets extremely cheap. I mainly just want it to replace my DSi, since its screen is starting to die and I don't want to lose my games. I really can't say there are that many 3DS games I'm interested in. Definitely not enough to justify a purchase for 3DS games alone. The addition of the second pad could possibly make developers develop more games I'm intereasted in.

waiting on 3ds price drop sorry but 180 is too much for a handheld as i got my dslite for 130 most

I would love to have a 3DS for Fire Emblem and Bravely Default, but I'm just not going to get another handheld.

With home consoles, I'll be honest, I'm not buying anything until after the PS4/720 are out and we know everything about them. Even then, unless Sony screws up badly, I'm anticipating getting a PS4 because I'm a fan of Worldwide Studios.

The best chance for me to get a Wii U would be as a second console somewhere down the line. As of now, however, The Wonderful 101, Pikmin 4, and maybe ZombiU are the only games that really appeal to me.

Realistically, for Nintendo to win me over, I'd need them to give me something other than platformers and party games. A GREAT Zelda, a solid Metroid, and some new IPs where the primary input isn't jumping. I'm not saying FPS, but give me some variety. Oh, and RPGs, they could win me over with that, and I should add Project X to the list of games that interest me.

HUGE price cut, at this point in time Id rather buy a new ps3 or 360 before a WiiU so it would have to be much cheaper then last gens consoles for me to buy it. And also some sort of trophy/ achievement system, I dont go out of my way to collect them anymore but It makes me try new games I never thought Id try.
