no fucking games till end of march is what is holding the wii u back

Ok I really know from expirience that the name "Wii U", while I think it sounds good, it really was a terrible decision to name it that way. Now I'm not sure if is affecting a TON of sales, but MULTIPLE people I tell about my wii U are confused.

I tell them "I have Nintendo's new system, the Wii U, and it's a WHOLE NEW SYSTEM, not just an add on controller." They usually respond, "really? I thought it just went with the Wii." Nintendo really needs to put out some good marketing to show people that this is a different console, because the name is definatly hurting them.

I have been trying to justify that name, and for a little while I thought it was ok. but I just can't keep it up, Wii U is the stupidest name for a console I can recall.

I think this is more an issue of shit promotion than anything else.

There's a big difference between not wanting a system and not even knowing it's a new system to begin with. Nintendo itself is entirely to blame for the confusion caused by the later as far as I'm concerned.

nah educating the public like they did with the 3DS is what is needed. Some sites still think 3DS is a DS lol. Guessing some developers thing 3DS is a DS and the gfx haven't changed on their games haha.

Let's just say there is a reason me and my brother keep referring to it as "the new Wii". Both Wii U and Wii 2 sounds awfully stupid. Sadly, it would be even more stupid to not take advantage of the famed Wii brand.

That said, I highly doubt the name will have a significant (if any) negative effect on sales. The games are what truly matters.
