How about these, Scottie?

Clearly plenty of people were confused. Using apple products, which are FAR more popular and recieve FAR more marketing/media attention is silly IMO.

Literally every single 1 of those is a person who was not sure, and then they asked, and now they are sure. You have linked to 20 more people who DO know that hte 3DS is a new console.

People can never know things before they are told them. We could use the existance of VGChartz posts to imply that VGChartz users didn't know that the 3DS was a new console before they found out on VGChartz, and it would make as much sense as your argument. This a great example of how casual gamers are not confused by such things, and are capable of finding out.

22 people who do know that the 3DS is a new console

0 people who do not.

Evidence is pointing VERY strongly in my favor.

Why is Ninty being stupid. None of this would be a problem if the Wii U didn't have the horrid name it has now.

What would you call it? Wii 2?

Most people now know that 3DS is a new console even though at first they didn't. However hardly anyone knows that Wii U is a new console and just think of it as a "highway robbery" controller

Well if they wanted to keep the Wii name in it, that would have been a better choice. They shouldn't have had Wii in the name at all though.

Not having progressive scan is a deal-breaker. No internet connectivity is fine, as no one plays Wii games online, but not being able to enjoy the games in 480p on your flat-screen is a tad ridiculous.

Sales should be healthy, though. Maybe it'd be a cool idea to sell to your niece or nephew or something.

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

Super Wii

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

I dont think its a bad idea. if they discontinue the original wii then it might add somr value to the wii u. For $99 u get a wii that only plays wii games or for $299 u get a wii u that is backwards compatible, has internet, hd ready, a new touch screen controller and now they dont look similar. Plus this version is clearly meant for young kids who are justnw getting old enough to play video games and dont need internet and have never heard of a gamecube before

Not sure the point, a used wii is cheaper I think. It does more then the mini at less the cost. Wii U is a bit of a weird name though, sounds like some wii add on.

Eh? The point I was making was that the general consumer was confused and they had to be told via Nintendo adverts that the 3DS was a new generation. They didnt know that the 3DS was a next gen console. A lot of people thought it was a remodel, like DSi or DSiXL.

Well people were confused over DS - 3DS transition. Nintendo knew this, thats why we got the "This isnt DS, this is 3DS" adverts.

Very possible that it could happen again.

Ok, I have no polite response to that. If you wish to believe people are that dumb, go right ahead.

See, people are that dumb.

Also, watch this advert from Nintendo. Having to inform people that its a new gen - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VyHph1zSl_c
