I want to ask you a serious question here. Do you really think Sony intentionally left off the higher profile developers so they could pad the list with mostly minor studios? Does that make any sense at all? If they were going to lie, wouldn't they have included the bigger names? Unless you're telling me they thought the list was more impressive without Deep Silver, Ninja Theory, or Avalanche? If there was ever an instance where someone could look rationally at a situation and say, OK, yeah, that was a mistake, this is it.
Second, and I'm certain you know this already, but registering patents does not mean intent to produce. Thousands of patents are never used. For instance, Microsoft patented a system where a camera (Kinect) actually counts the people in the room so that it can charge the account if that number exceeds the licensed amount. In other words, if you have a bunch of people over to watch something streaming on the NextBox, it could charge you extra. Now, do you think they're going to use that? No, probably not. Assuming something is going to be used just because it's been registered is folly.
