Forums - Nintendo - Do you play with the 3D on?

How often do you play with 3D on?

Always, all the way up! 74 34.10%

Always, on a lower setting 14 6.45%

About half the time 33 15.21%

> Half the time 26 11.98%

Never! 55 25.35%

SR 15 6.91%

Total:217

I usually play with the the 3D all the way up, but sometimes the double image will be distracting so I'll turn it down. But I've never turned it off.

Most games do the 3D badly and it rapes your eyes. If a game does the 3D well I may turn it on.

Resident Evil Revelations does it well, though I only played through once with it turned on even still.

You should read this link:

Also all 3DS games release in 2012 & up have a really good 3D effect, excluding 1 game; Crimson Shroud.

And in Resident Evil Revelations, you can go to option and change 3D depth from Normal to Strong and Very Strong, I choose very strong. Also you can change Aim to Gyro, so you can use the motion sensors....and you still somehow stay in the sweet spot which is cool.

nope, it takes way too much battery life, rather keep the wifi for street pass on. ANd honestly the 3d just isnt impressive to me, havent found a game that blows me away yet

For battery life, well before you put it in Sleep Mode, you will want to turn e Brightness all the way down & Power Save Mide ON & 3D OFF & Volume all the way down......and then when you open your 3D to play you turn everything the other way around......I play up to 4 hours on the go with the 3D ON & Brightness at 5 & Power Save Mode OFF & volume UP, and I always have the Wireless ON 24/7 for Wireless.

Plus all the 3DS games release in 2012 & up have an outstanding 3D effect if you have the Depth Slider all the way up, but Crimson Shroud has a bad 3D effect.

4 hours...isnt really that impressive. but better than i would have gotten otherwise. Ill have to take your word, for 2012 games, havent bought a 3ds game in a WHILE, that'll change with Luigi mansion

Depends on the games. Games like Pilotwings and Super Mario 3D Land are always on. Others, like Tales of the Abyss are almost always off. Games like Brain Age and Theatrythym are off because 3D adds nothing. Resident Evil is 50/50 because I love the effect, but it tends to lead to a lot of bothersome ghosting. Kid Icarus is on for Single player and off for multiplayer for W/e reason.

Nope, I didn't buy the 3DS for the 3D, just for the games. It's always off, I can't see in 3D (Lazy Eye :P )

You do know that you can get Lazy Eye fixed at any age, do you?

Its best to find out about lazy eye when you are really young, so it can cost very little money to fix.

If you are talking about laser eye surgery, it doesn't work for Lazy Eye.

All the time its on. I love the 3D effect. Some games are better than others. Fire Emblem rules.

Sometimes I do turn it off if doing tedious stuff like grinding or something that requires barely any attention and thus saves battery (does it save battery?) and with sound off as well. But if I'm actually playing its always on.

does it save battery?

Yes, I think so

Pretty much never. It's a shame because I really want to like the 3D but I just can't. Still love the 3DS though, and am glad others like it guess, I just don't care for the feature.

Try 3D games release in 2012 & up.

I'll list some:

Dillon's Rolling Western

Resident Evil Revelations (go to options and change depth to Very Strong)

Sonic Racing Transformed 3DS

Kid Icarus Uprising

Ketzal's Corridors

Crashmo

Colors! 3D (App)

Fire Emblem Awakening

Liberation Maiden

Kingdom Hearts 3D

Star Fox 64 3D

Castlevania Mirror of Fate

New Super Mario bros. 2

Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D

Mutant Mudds

Dillon's Rolling Western the Last Ranger

Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate

And make sure to have the 3D depth slider more then 90% up.

Tried it in Resident Evil, Kid Icarus, and Kingdom Hearts and I just don't like it sadly :p. I'll try it in Fire Emblem when I pick that up.
