The irony is people who are known trouble causers, people who have long moderation histories for trolling and flaming, complaining about a trouble causer. It would be like me complaining about all the spam from spurge and co. 6 months back... Then going on to create a "User Above" thread.

Ive reported more than my fair share of troll threads on all sides. Most get licked, some dont. I get over it.

I think too many in the pro Sony lobby have taken far too many liberties since the unveiling event. Personally I can see why they are excited, and I can see why so many of them lost their sense of decorum immediately after the event. I can even see why moderators may have felt the need to hold back on moderation bans or warnings, but it has been five days now, and I think they should polish up their hammers, and go to town on some people.

Yes I have seen a lot of fragrantly ban worthy offenses. That if I had perpetrated them even two weeks ago. I would have been stuck in the stockade for a week. I have never been a fan of ban first ask questions later, but the sheer volume of misbehavior on display isn't just bad. It is starting to infect other communities on this site. When they see a lot of people behaving really badly, and not getting banned, or worse seeing the punishments being handed out as a slap on the wrist. It will encourage a decline in the overall standards of these forums.

I can about guarantee you that if I had made that thread, or responded like that to another user like that all in the same thread. My ass would be out of these forums for at least a couple weeks. That poster was outright looking to cause genuine mayhem. He broke at least three different distinct rules. I mean he got the same punishment that N-Magic got. He probably thinks that getting to say those things is worth more then the punishment he got.

could have been worse. i'm not sure of how much troll bait the thread was considering he owned the system. he spoke from his perspective as an owner.

This is why we need to vote in a new congress. Nothing will get done until we have Mods who want to take care of the people.

Yeah, most the mods are vacation or busy with other stuff this week. Axum has something that is being reported as the bubonic plague.  I slept a straight 12 hours yesterday myself. Night Shift is hard work.

I was on like late last night, but at that point moderation would of meant the user would of only been banned for like 3-4 hours and never had known it until they read their messages. (Bans reset sometime in the morning for everybody.)


And yeah. That's more or less it. If something hasn't been moderated and it's especially egregious there are basically two possibilities going on.

1) Mod's just haven't been on to see it.

2) Mod's are waiting for multiple mods to be on to discuss a stricter punishment then usually warranted..

Because some of the mods have become horribly apathetic - honestly I think a major shake up is needed as some mods login once a day, and post even less than that while others are far more active members of the community.

Also the rules are as clear as mud; they need to be tightened and clarified.
