What was the repeat of this gen?  Selling, 3x the amount as last and still selling. Getting a big portion of sony's exclusive's to come on over to 360. Making a sh-t ton of cash and lets not forget that they have been building up studio's. As I see it, they have positioned themselfs great for the next generation. If they have as much success in how much they progressed. Next gen is going to blow up for them.

I agree they need more first party support but to avoid the level of success and progress is putting your head in the sand

Yeah, doing all that and at the end of the day still being beaten by the Playstation 3.  And there's really no reason to suspect that xbox will blow up next gen because they don't have the momentum on their side now or they'd be winning the console race each and every week, but they're not coming out on top each and every every week these days in the dedicated console market are they?  Somebody else is.



You have no clue what your talking about.... . .  LOL. You think PS3 Share holders only care about the units moved, They also care about the profits made off of each unit moved. Which in this case, ps3 has lost a massive amount of money and massive amount of their market share.

Your argument is so , that you only care about who wins. Not the cost to sony and their business. They have another gen like this and it will be over. Lets also not forget if MS has progress like this gen, they will be on top and shitting out money. PS3 Lost 5 billion dollars but all you can talk about is something that hasn't even happened yet. You don't think the anouncement of the PS4 is going to gimp sales of the ps3. PS3 has not passed MS and MS's profit margin on each system sold, is way more then that of PS3. So celebrate your little party but the joke is on you.


Looks like somebody had a meltdown.  Can't wait to see what your reaction will be when "The Last of Us" comes out this Summer and the PS3 passes the 360.

I don't get it. All these next gen consoles feature pretty awesome graphics... does a few more gigs even matter? Maybe far down the line at best.

Nope just stating facts. PS3 lost 5 billion dollars. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! we passed 360.

Microsoft fans will mostly pull a 180 and start saying every gig counts and the graphics are the most important. Half of the Sony fans will also pull a 180 and say graphics don't matter, it's all about imagination. The other Sony fans will be stubborn and stick with the PS4 still having better graphics, probably from secret sauce or the magic of Sony first party.

As I see it there's been a few twists already in this story.

Step 1: Originally we had a lot of speculation on this site that had the next Xbox pegged as being more powerful. Sony was losing money and it would be impossible for them to fight an arms race with MS so they were going to have to go with an under-powered console to survive.

Step 2: Rumors of hardware started to leak, it put the two consoles in a similar ballpark.

Step 3: Sony announced their conference first. This changed another theory most had - Sony would not be launching in 2014, or with weaker hardware (see step 2).

Step 4: A few rumors tentatively suggest Sony might bump the ram up to 8GB. This is confirmed on 20/2.

Step 5. Sony fans go wild about the specs.

So we've gone from a possibly weaker system launching later to a possibly more powerful system launching first. I think it's funny already.

After having to buy 3 XWanks over the years, I will not be buying another M$ console no matter how good it is.
It's bad enough that I have to develop software for their bloated windows O/S's
