IDK, I just hit the quote button for your post.  But, they won't charge for online more than likely.  Sony's online revolves around being free and would be a slap in the face to fans if they started charging for it. 

I find it hard to believe that both MS and Sony will charge for online anyway.

They will both keep their online the way they are.  MS isn't gonna give up billions of dollars just to give people online for free.

That's a tough one.

I don't like the idea of multi-player and video apps behind a pay-gate, first of all. It's not something I want to reward. At the same time, I'm paying for PS+ because I think it's a great service. If it continues as it's been going, I'll continue to subscribe.

With that in mind, if multi-player is part of an excellent service that I'm going to pay for anyway, then it would be tough for me to turn away from it. I wouldn't necessarily like it from a philosophical standpoint but from a practical standpoint it wouldn't actually make a difference.

On the other hand, for argument's sake, if multi-player became a separate charge that got tacked on, or if PS+ became totally devalued, then I would probably worry about getting a new PC before a Wii U. The PC will almost certainly have more third-party games that I'm interested in than a Nintendo console. It would be my main gaming machine without question.

depends on the subscription model...
if MS keeps the same i will not buy a XB, if they change it, depends on the changes.
if Sony does requires PS+ for on-line MP, is fine by me because i am already a subscriber.

i see value in PS+ , but i don't see the point in paying for just on-line play and a feat. set that has nearly no value when it comes to games.

wii U has zero appeal to me right now.

I already have a Wii U, but I would not get a PS4 or Nextbox if they charged for online. I shouldn't have to pay a fee to play half of my game.

Sony said nothing about online play being free.  They just spoke of the future of their network.  It is is very consuming of resources, including streaming pay. This will costs, and the features are integrated into play.  There is talk of Playstation World coming out, and you see Sony is not opposed to charging people for additional services, with the like of Playstation Plus.  Sony is setting up to run a network for gamers, across multiple devices, and the way to pay for that is to charge for it.  Sony HAS run MMOs also, and has gone subscription route.  In short, there is no signs they won't charge for online play, and a number of signs that they will.  So, the question is one of seeing what people would do if the only console not charging for online play is the WiiU, if they would get one.

I don't play online anyway, so it really doesn't bother me. I'm more than willing to pay for psn+ though. It's simply amazing.

This poll on this forum is pointless. Too many dedicated fans who obviously won't vote for anything but their preferred console.
