I wouldn't even worry about this.. Game that prevent the use of used game sales tend to sell very poorly. Capcom learned that lesson, along with why they should keep their mouth shut when developing DLC alongside the actual game,,,(sfxt) because people have said in code, they didn't care that the DLC was made during the development, and will still buy it, as long as it's not on the same disc, so that they can't spend more money for it server costs for hosting full DLC, etc, etc.

That's what we're moving to. Companies are going to continue to try to be as greedy as possible. If they don't do something you like... Don't support them.

PS3 is region free, but developers can choose to region lock games. To date, only 1 company has chosen to do this and that was Atlus with Persona 4: Arena.

I feel the uptake of blocking used will be pretty similar even if it is an option for the most part.

I don't often buy used games. Usually when I can't find it new, such as an older title, I have no choice but to buy used. Well, that and publishers I'm pissed at I buy used. (I'm lookin' at you Ubisoft!) I doubt many publishers will take advantage of this as it usually amounts to bad press and lower sales.
