At that point they don't even need Vita content anymore, just PS4 content if they wanted to. Consolidating the dev effort is the winning strategy for the handheld space. Sadly the Vita's price tag is a bit hefty for that (those powerful internals aren't required for streaming I believe), so well it's a lesson learnt for their next handheld.

It's not Vita as a controller! It's Vita to play PS4 games on the go. REAL PS4 games. Nothing else can do this.


There is no way to play video games on the go on a Vita from the PS4 on a 3G or even 4G network IMO. They did not say you could do this on the Vita at the press conference, and for good reason, because that connection simply isn't fast enough.

Ever heard of Wi-fi? It's spreading. Go to a friend's house with your Vita and play PS4 games. On the go doesn't just mean "while taking a walk" you know...


If I'm at my friends house, why would I want to play on a tiny little 5-inch sub-HD resolution screen? I'll play on his 50 inch 1080p TV. With proper L2/R2 buttons and not those dinky little analog sticks.

This type of Gaikai streaming service will almost certainly require a subscription fee too, Sony didn't pay $300 million for nothing.

As well, those games are streamed. Thus, your Vita will be as useful as your internet connection is. This doesn't really make it better for people who are still on limited bandwidth (which is a lot of people in the States) and/or have lousy net connections. Seriously, all it means is that instead of streaming PS1, 2, and 3 games and your bandwidth taking a hit that way, you get to stream the PS4 ones and use it that way instead.

It'd be a pretty poor fate for a very cool little handheld system if this turned out to be what 'saved it'.

Thank you for your concern, but as a Vita owner I'm not concerned, as I already got a bunch of great games and more on the horizon, bye :) .

The problems is thoses are not exclusives they are multiplatforms and some timed exclusives. Especially anything that Capcom is involved in. Killzone and inFamous and the music game are the only exclusives and they are really not system sellers.

As for the OT no it will probally do nothing for Vita sales and is kind of distressing they are making it out to be a glorified controller. As for the streaming thing it sounds like you need to be in the area of the system so your WiFi probally doesn't need to concern itself with the streaming.

I didn't watch the stream and I am glad I didn't. Also, for this topic it really doesn't matter what morenoingrato said about PS4 games. It's all about the notion that the Vita is saved because of streaming PS4 games. It obviously isn't. It's actually very concerning for the platform, if this is supposed to be its saving grace.

not to be the guy to drag reality back into the site tonight, but Remote Play for ps4 has been planned since the beginning. The ps3 just isn't capable enough. Soon the vita will interact like the WiiU pad does, I'm sure. There's a reason for 8GB of gddr5, it's for that.

I have a wiiU coming to me in like 2 days, rol! I'm excited!

Rather than the Vita, I'd prefer if Sony/MS offer the options to stream to your tablet around the house.

Tablets have a larger display and real HD resolution. That would be nice to set a tablet on the kitchen table and continue playing that way.

PS4 and PSV are twice as expensive as the Wii U, I am pretty sure this cost problem was discussed before.

Apparently there will be a Monster Hunter demo available, starting tomorrow. You are quite lucky lately.
