Anyone thinking of going to see the new Riddick movie, please dont. It was a generally nice film except that the riddick character dispels this lesbian characters desire for pussy by threatening to rape her enough that she wants his dick. I still feel uncomfortable about it and it seemed really out of the riddick characters nature.

Wait what? They included a threat of "corrective" rape in it? Didn't think you'd be allowed to get away with that unless it was clearly shown to be evil and false -.-

That's a strange choice of action for what is presumably the hero of the film

he threatens to rape her a couple times earlier on,  then by the end of the film she desperately wants him.  they dont show any sex scene and only allude to the sex so its all suggestive and he doesnt rape her cause she wants it at that point.  she does clearly indicate shes a lesbian though early in the film and actually fends off advances and an attempted rape by another person.   its just that the charming vin diesel persuades her through all his manly heroics that dick really is best.

Riddick is more of an antihero sort of character, but in the earlier films he actually goes out of his way a lot to protect a girl specifically.   a sort of dangerous renegade but you still felt that he had some morals.  even in this film he has this close relationship with an animal he befriends and raises.   you see a side that isnt anything like the brutal killer aspect of him.   but then he made those comments towards her and i was really taken aback by it.

i dont think i will go see another riddick film if they make one nor will i see any film with vin diesel or katee sackhoff.  either actor could have forced a change.

I'm very disappointed! A user I find very sexy and thought was on this list, is actually straight and dating. Being on different sides of the pond wouldn't have worked anyway, so it's all for the best. :p
