So basically they made those numbers from nothing.
Given that Red Dead Redemption was bigger than GTA IV and launched in 1 Disc, the max I can see it is 3 discs with the change of being only 2, with the map splitted in half (like GTA Vice City), or with 1 of them being a mandatory install.
As for launching it on PC... well, RDR didn't see a PC release but Max Paine did. I'm more inclined to say that they will also launch it on PC.
