I'm willing to give this one a shot and see how it goes. I can sometimes procrastinate a bit though, but at times that I think it's very important, I should be able to get myself to help. Or when it's not too difficult. I did the two online ones there. Was thinking about doing actual mail since it supposeably holds more weight, but then I remembered I'm in Japan and don't want to pay posting, so after I get back I can do actual letters.

Also, if it wasn't for the fact that the cheap webhosting service I have's website seems to have disappeared, I would've let my site be converted into some sort of bulletin or something specifically for this as the last two things I tried to use it for died pretty quickly.

Count me in! But I don't know if writing a letter to my representative will do much good... he is a Democrat in a very Republican district. I think I should wait until after November to send a letter.
But I agree with your idea, and want to join.

Not that I don't support the idea, but it won't have any impact. Anything 'net associated has its credibility completely shot in the eyes of any significant old fuck over in Washington.

And no, acronymic titles don't give your 'organization' any credibility. Specially goofy-ass ones.

On a side note, anybody want to join ADASA, Average Dudes Against Stupid Acronyms?

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

hello everybody, we need more members...

hmm, i tend to think games would actually need proper rules and legislation to gain more legitimacy. like, for a poor example, with movies, things are so clear people aren't confused about what movies are targeted towards what audience. i'm serious about about this. only then will morons like Jack Thompson disappear.

the Wii is an epidemic.

I'm 100% game I hate the ignorance in politics with video games.

I will agree with the proper rules part. Not exactly sure about agreeing on the legislation part, but as the name says, it is against illogical legislation. It does not specify any and all legislation. Perhaps if a reasonable law was proposed then we could even support the understanding and knowledge of said law. Maybe not likely to happen, but the name doesn't say no rules. The industry itself has been over time working out their own rules and regulations which have seemed for a good chunk to be working. I think it's more about people needing to understand and use what is out there, and the industry will continue to try to right itself. The people making the games are people too with families and children and such, so if there is a feeling of things getting truly out of hand, I can see the industry itself and gamers fixing and changing its rules.

another way is to make it so that the ESRB ratng system is noticed and works.  People like Jack Thompson need to realize that even with movies there are paces that kids can easily get porn/R-rated/NC17-rated movies.
