Your wrong buddy! 169k is alot but over 200k? It is way over, there was alot of download (digital) and if they didnt include (which they probably didn't) the sales should be way over 250k! Maybe close to or over 300k!

I thought when you made a prediction thread, you were predicting the sales we could actually see & keep track of using either the numbers here or the NPD numbers at the beginning of next month (if we get them).  Not digital sales which we may-or-may-not get an official press release telling us the exact figure of.

If that wasn't what you meant by the thread, then never mind what I said!

yea my bad on not making it clear, 169k is very impressive wen shipments sucked! Also anybody that follows the game can tell you its selling like crazy on eshop! Its rank#11 in just two weeks. TBH i think digital sales are way over 100k.

Horrible sales for everything. Nintendo needs to get on the ball for the 3DS and Wii U. The last major game we had for 3DS was Paper Mario. The Wii U only has New Super Mario Bros U. 360 and PS3 need a price cut.

Fire Emblem is a pretty big game, and there's Monster Hunter and Luigi's Mansion coming in a few weeks time. Then of course there's Lego City, Mario and Luigi, Animal Crossing, Mario Golf etc. which will tide it over through the holidays, and then Pokemon coming in October, with who knows what else.

These are only the games of which have firm release dates from Nintendo which I think will sell 1 million copies. I think Nintendo have the 3DS under control, after a somewhat lacking 2012.

Those games will certainly push systems. In fact I'm not worried about 3DS sales at all. It's just that I think they shouldn't be having game droughts from late November to late March, which is why their systems are falling. Also the lack of advertising.

With the Wii U and PS Vita, it's like the dead vs. the dead. Except one has a chance of out lasting, and the other doesn't.

No I agree with you, game droughts are unforgivable, but at least Nintendo have a plan with the 3DS, which will likely work, and to a lesser extent Wii U.

I don't get the lack of advertising, though.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

DmC also adjusted down. I'd say that one is a massive flop, but is it really a flop when it's made by a dev that can't seem to make games that sell?

It's a shame since gameplay seemed good and story seems interesting. I'll definitely pick this game up once it hits $40. Maybe.

PS3 back in the 120k range, avoided going under 100k for now.

I don't think it will any time soon. Even if it does, God of War on March 12 should provide boosts in all regions except Japan since there is a hardware bundle. I'm expecting the game to at least match GOW3's 1.2m on launch week. *fingers crossed*

Wii hardware is selling more than WiiU... It really beggars belief. Sony and MS have to avoid that fate with PS4/720.

They can't avoid that. Grand Theft Auto V alone will sell more than all launch titles combined for both PS4 and 720.

Wii U/Vita aligned launch comparison

US week 12
Wii U: 8,795
Vita: 13,154

Europe week 11
Wii U: 8,013
Vita: 18,875

Japan week 10
Wii U: 11,652
Vita: 11,510

Total
Wii U: 28,460
Vita: 43,539

Wii U manages to scrape by this week in Japan, but the Vita is 53% higher across the three regions.

Damn. Leave it to Wii U to make Vita sales look good.

And therein lies the problem, most gamers see it like this. It basically has a low percieved value, the 3rd person action scene has become inflated and lost the zest it once had. The whole genre has moved more towards gimmick and polish than gameplay in order to keep selling, DMC is kind of back to basics, and that shit won't fly in todays market.

This is also why a Resident Evil reboot that truly goes back to the roots will likely fail, the old fans of the series have long since moved on with the death of the genre (damn near death at any rate).

PS3 now is tracking 29% down yoy but it still seems undertracked near 1 million WW... so the sales for Europe and Others can be better than what VGC shows.

I expect after all the adjustments the PS3 down below 20% yoy.

Great year for PS3.
