In every sense of the word if your a gamer the 3DS XL is the most definate version of the 3DS and the one everyone should buy!, unless they are worried about pocket size the is no reason you should pick the original over the XL version. |
The 3D effect acts like anti-alising and the XL has physical antialiasing which gets even more antialising from the 3D effect.
The XL does have it's 3D look better because the same 3D image is 90% bigger because the 3D screen is 90% bigger, which gives 90% more depth & distance, which is why the depth slider is 90% longer.
And if you read my other post you would see that I mention a similar thing where I talk about Pushmo & Cubic Ninja & Crimson Shroud.
Plus I'm the kind of person who wants to see everything at once.

With the 3D ON & all the way up, then you should know what I am talking about, plus the OP user is actually asking which to get, so I had to explain since he or she is not just going straight with the XL.
i wanted to get the XL so bad myself until I saw the newer 3DS games with the 3D ON & all the way up.

I forgot to mention that the XL is 3% reflective VS. 12% reflective on the regular size, which makes the XL suitable for playing outdoors during the day time when the sun is out fully.
I currently own both and I game mostly on the original 3DS. I like the feel and the weight of it mostly.

Also check out the 3D websites in my signature on the Web Browser when you get it, but the GBA site needs to be visited on your computer to download the rar files and extract 3D screenshots to put into the SD card once you have more then 100 photos/screenshots in your 3DS to have multiple folders in your DCIM folder to fit them all by 100 per folder (you will know what to do by then) |
Thanks for the informative posts. What if I don't want to use 3D? I'd much rather save battery life.

Nice review. The games look really nice on that huge screen and DS games don't seem to take any visual hits so that's a plus.
Yup, the current red and blue for NA are so lame....

I care about the color. I mean, once I buy it, I have to stick with it so I want it to look as pleasing to my eyes as possible. :P
