Why do people think always online is possible?even we only talk about USA,this country still not ready for that(always-online).

I don't like Kinect so I hope this isn't true. Also not crazy about the fact that is have to buy all new controllers. All I can say is I'm looking forward to finding more out about Sonys next console.

PS1 did have thumb sticks. Using PS1 pads was a decent alternative if you didn't wanna go out and buy a DS2 controller. IIRC the only thing PS1 pads missed out on if you used them on PS2 games were the analog buttons. Either way it's not as if using old controllers is not unheard of, plenty of consoles have done it.

And at the same time a new console NOT using old controllers is not a big deal either because plenty of consoles go that route too.

However, focing Kinect on us is incredibly lame, and if the always-online stuff is true then MS can **** off next gen.

Them forcing Kinect on us is no better than Sony trojan horsing Blu Ray into our homes via PS3. Will just jack up the price for something irrelevant to gaming.

analog buttons? are you talking about L3 and R3? if so, the ps1 DID have analog buttons

Since when has any new console (Before the Wii U) ever let you use your old console controllers on them without some form of modding or adapter?

Yeah, that's what I thought. People love to complain about things they've never had, yet somehow expect?

PS1 controllers compatible with PS2

This. The only reason an adapter was needed to use ps2 pads on ps3 was the switch to wireless.

PS2 added thumbsticks. PS1 did not have those. Why would you ever want to use PS1 controller on PS2?

Gamecube controllers on Wii was one I had missed though. Looks like mostly a recent development still, and mostly a Nintendo thing.

Any other legacy consoles I just simply am too young to know/care about haha.... NES/Sega Genesis are my first consoles. If there were others back then at the same time, I'm afraid I don't know of them.

There are plenty of XBL accounts that are never used, and some for promotional purposes, etc, so that number would go down. Requiring a 24/7 internet connection would be a major disadvantage. It won't happen.

Oh no, do NOT compare BluRay to Kinect. Except for adding to the initial price of the console, it at least does nothing to hurt gameplay, does it? And PS3 is still not only a BluRay player, but one heck of a BluRay player/media hub. BluRay discs also don't scratch easily.

Most exclusives do actually use the added space too, Heavy Rain for instance wouldn't be the same without it, same goes for GoW3 and Uncharted 3, among others.

What i think he means is the X,square, triangle,O are pressure sensitive, so its called analog input.

Yeah, they use the extra space to shove in a lot of redundant data to account for the slow ass BR drive.

The face buttons and shoulder buttons were all analog. For example in Madden you could control the zip put on passes by how hard you pressed the button.

I was confused by the Controller Fragmentation - unless they are referring to Kinect/Non-Kinect systems. While it is often hated here, Kinect has been a great success, selling more than the original Xbox in about half the time. It is quite useful for many things, it's own games, and can enhance games - like Skyrim.

I think to be best utilized, Kinect 2.0 should be included in all systems. Just like the WiiU has a tablet in all systems - so games can be designed to use it's features. They really *must* do this to make it effective. And since I thought the original only cost something like $50 in hardware - it shouldn't effect the system too much as most of the cost is software/research. (And prices on HD Cameras have fallen since thing.)

Always on would not be a good thing for many reasons. What if you take it to a friends and they don't have internet?

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.
