Who knows. Nintendo seems to enjoy re-releasing big games. Its not much of an investment likely to retool it to be on 3DS and then add the 3D as a new feature and bang... new $40 game.

However... in DKCR the 3D effect is just that... an effect.

In SMG it would actually complicate the natural 3D platforming in the game and likely not allow a good user experience.

They could also add such new things as Motion Controls & Touch Screen Controls and new features, i.e. Star Fox 64 3D.

Plus side-Scrollers with 3D polygon graphics look much more better in 3D, i.e. New Super Mario Bros. 2.

But I'm curious about your last sentence there. I mean I have played such games as Sonic Racing Transformed 3DS & Star Fox 64 3D, and they both look awesome with the 3D effect. Could you explain more about what you mean in your last sentence?

SMG is a 3D platformer. Meaning you move in a full 3dimensional space... not to be confused with the visual effect 3D.

It was designed to be played in a 2D visual experience where the depth was based off of the orientation of the camera / character in the game. If you put it in a real 3D visual effect you'll likely create a situation where you'll disorient the user as the camera functions and depth will then be ... different. I don't think it would work well basically.

I could be over thinking it though and completely wrong.

So that's what you meant.

Well, I think the 60 fps with the 3D ON should take care of that, if that where to be true. But yeah, who knows......until someone tries it.

But I believe Planet Crashers 3DS port, works like Mario Galaxy and I don't hear anyone getting disoriented from that, so I guess it won't be a problem.

Am I the only one who thought DKCR3D doesn't look as good as the original on Wii according to the 3D trailer? (at the same, I tend to think that most trailers never look as good as the original game on that system for some reasons).

DKCR is a 3D game, so it's likely to look somewhat worse on the 3DS as it can't produce as many polygons and high res textures as Wii. However, lightning and shader based effects will look better on the 3DS.

But the 3DS has GamePad controls VS. the WiiMote experience you had. Does that make a difference to you?

GamePad controls? Aren't you mixing the 3DS and Wii U up?

Well, I have downloaded the 3D trailer for Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, and the Graphics & polygons & Textures look soo good.

Anyways Donkey Kong was soo small in parts of the trailer, but the 3D effect just makes him look like he is just far away in the distance, so clearly Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 in 3D is a realistic thing to happen. *fingers cross* LOL

They already tried that. Results weren't favorable.

Because everyone seemed (to my knowledge) to have ignored this, I have reposted it along with proof.

Now while they didn't get the game running on 3DS, they did obviously try running the game on a comparable screen and found that it just wouldn't work. Not for any technical reasons, but the fact that the camera aspects in Galaxy aren't suited to portable play at all, Mario would become a speck and the game would be rendered unplayable.

Why would we want Galaxy on 3DS? A couple of ports are fine, but I'd much rather see more titles developed specifically for it.

Oh Wait Wait...
of course I want Mario Galaxy on 3D and even more a new Mario Galaxy or a mix of the two. Galaxy 1.5

But Sunshine would be cool too. Decision decision!

Just download the Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D trailer from the eShop, and you will see that Donkey Kong is just a speck in the last minute of the trailer but the 3D effect makes him look like he is just far away. (so watch it with the 3D ON)

I really doubt it'll look better if it were to ever be ported.

To answer the OP, it's not going to happen so there is no point in thinking about it.

I do think that with 3D effects on, Mario Galaxy WOULD look better on 3DS than it did on Wii... Kid Icarus in 3D already looks better than anything on the Wii. My issue is I think this would be better to save for the next generation 3DS. It would be a great game to captain the new ship in the launch window.
