Terrible game or not, i feel people are missing the wider scope here,
Yes, Nintendo may very well be capable of keeping themselves and their consoles above water with first party titles only, but games being canned left and right for a console so new is worrying, terrible sales for a console so new is worrying, terrible game sales for a console so new is worrying, how any Nintendo fan can sit there and see the positive side is beyond me.

Don't get me wrong, i don't sit here and say "AHAHAHA your console is doomed", I sit here worried, because Nintendo have released a very capable machine, it doesn't matter if its slightly slower, slightly faster, the same or much faster than the ps3 or 360, because no matter what it's way faster than the Wii, and clearly capable of games as visually appealing as the ps3 and 360 - I do hope the release of new games helps it, and that 3rd partys warm up to it both publically and internally because it would be a shame for it to fail, there are so many potential gems the system could have - try this yourself, look back at every home console so far and asks yourself, 'has this console had 0 classics?' the answer is no, every console has it's gems, and i want to see the WiiU pump out it's gems rather than rolling over and dissapearing.

People need to treat things seriously, accept that the situation is very bad, accept that there is actually a chance this machine could see an early grave and work to fix that, spend less time saying 'everyone just wait, nintendo will pull through, f**k third parties', because you're swearing off potential gems from these devs and publishers.

Accept reality for what it is and show your support for the system in a more productive way.

It's a bad game. It will not help the Wii U at all.

The definitive version.  LMAO!  The definitive version is almost always the PC version (For instance Dark Souls is arguably better on PS3).

Look I want to be clear and state right now that I am NOT trolling, but seriously, the Wii U is looking BAD.  You know a system is doing bad when a game with "Aliens" in the name was one of those last hopes for a third party game proving the Wii U's "power."

Spoiler Alert:  The Wii U is roughly 25% stronger than the PS3 in real world performance.  The thing is it isn't gonna have first parties proving its strength (Zelda REMAKE? Don't make me laugh!  Killzone 2 from 2009 says high!), and third parties aren't gonna bother programming that extra 25% for a system that has a pittifully small user base in comparison to PS360.

The only thing Nintendo can do IMO is start a GREAT shooter franchise that harnesses all of the Wii U's power along with the abilities of the controller, and drop the price to $250 for the 32GB version (Just forget the laughable 8GB).

P.S.  The Wii U's tiney 25-50% performance lead over the PS3 is bottlenecked by:

1) No HDD.  Game updates have to be small (Say goodbye to BF4), and no games can be installed to mega increase texture load times.  Oh and btw anyone who knows anything about computer hardware will tell you an externall HDD over USB is no where near the same speed as an internal one.  Quote me, no AAA games will be able to be installed to it.

2) The second screen.  Essentially the only thing that can be shown on it with no performance hit is menus/mini maps.

While PC version is generally the best version... no one really counts it. When a dev says one is "definitive" its because that is the platform it was either created on or has some special sauce added to look / play better. However, this is always in relation to "consoles". So yeah, it was mentioned previously that the WiiU version would be the "definitive" version and many now joke that it still is as its the only version unreleased.

The WiiU is looking just fine. There are a lot of games coming post March. Many really good games too. The only 3rd party that is absolutely ignoring WiiU is EA and that is everything do to with their relationship with Nintendo and nothing to do with the actual hardware. Now, does that mean 3rd party AAA titles will flood the system... no. Its certainly possible Nintendo will get ignored just as the case with Wii. But that remains to be proven either way by E3 once the rest of "next-gen" has been confirmed by MSony.

Also, why would Nintendo need to make a shooter franchise? The one genre isn't the whole of gaming. This time around the CODs and others won't be severely gimped like they were on Wii, so it will be fine.

As for your last two points...

1) HDD... the same DLC can be offered. If a user buys that and wants it, they will get an external HDD. Its just not an issue.

EDIT: See the new large DLC that will come for NSMBU this year as an example of lacking a HDD not being an obstacle.

2) The screen is a massive advantage. off tv play is fantastic and can also very easily be turned off... see CODBLOPS2. Again, not an issue.

Well, I hope that SEGA is saying the truth and the game hasn't been cancelled. It's always better to have more games to choose from even if some of them are bad.

Besides I can't understand the publishers that cancel a game that's almost completed. In the past it made some sense as they had to made the DVDs, boxes, marketing, shipping, etc., but now with the digital distribution they have the option to launch it only on the eShop (in this case) so no extra costs are needed. Hell, finish it and put it on the eShop, that way you'll get some money back!

Also, the bad news from some weeks ago that said that the WiiU version wasn't in charge of Gearbox may be some good news now .

That's a good point. With digital distros a game doesn't have to be AAA to make money. Every digital sale is better than nothing.

I remember when Half-Life was going to be released on Dreamcast. It was finished, it had gone gold, review copies had been sent out to magazines and it's stellar reviews were printed and sent out. But it got canceled and now we just have a beta leak that proves how good the port was going to be. All they had to do was send it to retail and it would have made them money.

For Sega's sake, I hope it isn't cancelled. I hate Sega, but they deserved better with the IP, its clear Gearbox didn't give a shit about it.

I hope Sega take action against Gearbox. Hell, Rebellion's AVP in 2010 was a far better game, even its graphics.

I just don't get it. How hard can it be to make an awesome AvP game!? I mean, this universe is so incredible, that you really don't have to work too hard to make something truely spectacular! Really blows my mind.

To the Wii U version - I have always considered this one to be the ultimate one. The Gamepad working as the move detector was a big enough argument for me to ignore other versions of the game in favour of the Wii U one (unless they released a simmilar PS3+Vita combo obviously). This was one of the bigger argument for Wii U in my book. I really hope that it doesn't get cancelled, since even though I'm more of a Sony fan, I like Nintendo very much and don't want Wii U to be a failure.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.
