Besides I can't understand the publishers that cancel a game that's almost completed. In the past it made some sense as they had to made the DVDs, boxes, marketing, shipping, etc., but now with the digital distribution they have the option to launch it only on the eShop (in this case) so no extra costs are needed. Hell, finish it and put it on the eShop, that way you'll get some money back! Also, the bad news from some weeks ago that said that the WiiU version wasn't in charge of Gearbox may be some good news now |
That's a good point. With digital distros a game doesn't have to be AAA to make money. Every digital sale is better than nothing.
I remember when Half-Life was going to be released on Dreamcast. It was finished, it had gone gold, review copies had been sent out to magazines and it's stellar reviews were printed and sent out. But it got canceled and now we just have a beta leak that proves how good the port was going to be. All they had to do was send it to retail and it would have made them money.
