They're doing okay considering the share history - up a good percent compared to a year ago.

Perhaps the little effort they do to their WiiU ports is a sign they're not pleased with the system? Just maybe?

It's not a profitable exercise, more so when EA say that the PS4/next-box will completely outclass the Wii U, rendering it effectively a 7th gen console. |
That is not my point though. Ofcource it is a better plan to release a game to 140mill+ than to release it to 3 mill. But many of the games that EA have relesed were not good ports, actually worse than on other consoles, they costed more, people also needed to buy a console and so on and so forth.

What I said is part of your point though...
The ports cost a lot to do and are difficult thanks to the CPU. Now that wouldn't be an issue if there were 1.5 billion users, or going to be that amount of users. But there's not and there will never be. There's only 3 million, ergo publishing on the Wii U is not a profitable exercise.

No, my point is that more people would have bought those games if they were just as good as their counterpart on other consoles and not have gotten an triology including the same game released a few days befor itself that costed less than the standalone game. I did not say in my original post that ea would earn money on the wii u if they put more effort into it, but they certainly would have sold more copies. And that would meen that they could look at it and say: Hmm, the nuber of people owning this console, and the amount of games sold doesn't look too bad, if we give this platform a year, and a bit of faith, and we might just have an viable platform.

Would they have? How many people have actually taken the time to read the digital foundary tech breakdowns?
The issue isn't the quality of games, it's that the games don't offer anything new enough to warrant buying an entire console. If you already have a 360 or PS3, why get a Wii U when you can just get it for your other console which also has all your friends on?
The Wii U, as far as I'm concered, was DOA due to it not offering a big enough improvement over the existing consoles at the end of those consoles life span.

Yeah, ofcource more would have bought them if they had exlusive content.

Or it could be a sign they are lazy and lack talent.

Maybe both..?
As a company, they tend to go with what makes financial sense. Why lose money just to spite Nintendo? It seems unlikely.
