He wants Sony to be like Nintendo. Make their games family friendly.

PlayStation never was family freindly ever. Before Sony enterd the console business, everyone saw video games as a childs toy but Sony proved them wrong and made the video game industry what it is today.

That jackass who wrote the article should know better.

but this is IGN, they never know better. have you ever seen an interview for grieg miller? im a 100 times more professional than him. also, Sony does have a lot of family friendly games. not as much as nintendo but they still have enough to cater to the family friendly market. they offer great games on pretty much every genre, something that nintendo and MS are not even close to doing

I never liked any of those old games. I always found my game in jrpgs and then later western rpgs. I have zero problems with where sony is going these days, ie conintuing to support blockbuster games and my fav jrpgs and wrpgs.

"...Of course, Sony, as a company is still alive and kickin', and there is no doubting that they still have a quality platform with quality games to play, and they probably always will. And regardless of what some Sony cynics may say, I'm sure they won't be going anywhere anytime soon, and they will continue to be part of the gaming industry. But Playstation, as a platform, has a complely different identity now. As Playstation All Stars so clearly showed, Sony doesn't even have the rights to most of those old mainstays anymore.

That isn't to say that Sony isn't still an awesome hardware and software company. They still put out some quality entertainment and make some mean hardware. In reality, there is nothing horribly wrong about what Sony is doing...."

I don't know how he's a "jackass." In the least, he's complimented Sony.

That has nothing to do with what i said.

If you look at the early PlayStation games that came out they followed the same makeup as Nintendo games because the majority of those games were thought up for Nintendo consoles. The Japanese 3rd parties at the time wanted to be released from Nintendo controlling grasp and Sony gave them that option. Sony's direction with its developers shifted because again they wanted to fill a void and market that was not being catered to and that was the adult male gamer. Eventually that market will shift and most likely will revert back to some resemblance of the original PlayStation, but its not like Sony doesn't have the capacity to do these games again. Capcom can bring instant nostalgia with megaman 9 and 10, i'm sure Sony can do the same.

How? It has everything to do with what you said. Unless you called him a jackass for a different, totally unrelated reason...

As long as they can provide first party titles and get decent third party support (that I am interested in) I'm gonna be getting their game systems in the future.

Its funny though - this article can also relate to Early Nintendo as well in a way.

its simple logic, a company wont make the exact same games they used to 15 years ago, this can be said about every game developer and publisher in the world, they can cater to the same market yes, but they wont be making the exact same games.
