Forums - Gaming - Activision Blizzard now has enough cash to buy Take-Two and Ubisoft!

Activison Blizzard's 4th quarter financial results

show they have $3.959 billion in cash.

With Take-Two's market cap at $1.34 billion (http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=TTWO&ql=1)
and Ubisoft's at €715.6 million ($959 million) (http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=UBI.PA)

It would be affordable for Activision to pay 1.6x both ther market caps in cash!

Why do they all that money and yet they still only come out with average games?

It makes me sad too.  The only time I've ever hated Blizz is for helping Activision in their financials lol

I'd prefer those companies all remain independent of one another. Why would anyone prefer a monopoly of the market? The competition among those companies all leads to better games.

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

So they couldn't afford to keep any of their recently defunct studios open?

Just don't buy R*, please!

Thinking that more money to spend = better games is what got the gaming industry in the financial hole it's currently in.

As for Activision, over the years they had some luck, some good management decision and have been around for a long long time. They have been making games before I was born, and I am 31 years old...
