Not really. They might be milking the franchise, but tons of work is put on every sequel. COD, FIFA and such games should have yearly DLCs or expansions at best.

Very disappointing. It's a shame really. Do you guys remember when the first title came out? A breath of fresh air type of game with a unique feeling and atmosphere but had some gameplay and presentation issues. Then Assassin's Creed 2 came out and blew everyone away?

Then they realized they could make more money because gamers would buy an Assassin's Creed game every year no matter the quality. It's not Ubisoft's fault, it's our fault. People complain about milking the franchise but until you stop buying it, they will continue to milk it.

Another? After AC3 I'm very wary of buying another AC. The reviews and word of moth must be great for me to consider it, and even then I'd buy it much later when it's cheaper, I'm burned out.

This series had two good games out of five (2 and Brohood). If you think about it it's insane.

They had to buy a new calendar, which is their cue to make another Assassin's Creed game.

In all seriousness, I have enjoyed each Assassin's Creed game and if they put enough resources from this one, it should be another good one and almost certainly next-gen

As for the question over dev-time, you have to ask yourselves why would they? Rockstar released GTA IV about 5 years ago and yes it did sell nearly 20m copies + DLC money. 5 years gives you plenty of time to create an amazing open world game with interesting environments and characters.

Ubi sell 10m+ each year with probably 2 year dev times with alternating teams. They probably have more people working on the game and it is clearly lacking in relative depth in terms of interesting worlds and characters (since AC II), but it is fairly close and clearly makes them a lot of money.

If I were them, with the success of FC 3, they could probably alternate them now, but before this, they simply haven't had any other major franchises. In the future, I could probably see an AC game and FC game swap years, but they certainly don't want to miss the start of the next generation AND AC III just sold 12m copies, all is good in Ubi's world

I'm a big fan of Assassin's Creed but they really need to move this to a every other year franchise. One every year is a bit too much unless they reinvent every time. Revelations was an example of what happens when you run out of ideas.

I love the franchise but i wish they could not release one this year and make the next game better than it will end up being. This franchise will end up being as boring as COD at this rate
