Rich has already pretty much said that it's not Wii Street U. Someone asked if he'd call that "Substantial", and he said he wouldn't. He said that the IGN news is substantial.

Fair enough. Fingers crossed for something big!

I think it was unlikely to begin with. If Nintendo had managed to secure a GTA V release, they'd be keeping it ready for a big announcement, it wouldn't go through IGN.

Same reasoning can be applied to any other big franchise announcement. This is "substantial", not "major". I'd say the biggest franchise that it could conceivably be is Sonic... or maybe something from Valve. Anything bigger, and Nintendo would want to announce it for themselves, or to really hype it up ahead of time. The only exception to this would be late ports - I could, for instance, see it being Final Fantasy XIII for Wii U, as it's an older game. Resident Evil 5 would also be a contender. But I don't think it'll be such late ports.

Quite high, I'd say. It's hard to believe that both IGN and AG would, independently, get some Wii U-related news, to be released on the same day, both teased the day before, and they be completely unrelated.

The only way I could see that happening is if Nintendo had some sort of odd NDA that applied to a lot of different things, that expires tomorrow. And I can't see them having such an odd NDA, and then having it expire on the 8th of February (working on Japanese time for the date) - a date that doesn't really have any sort of significance that I know of.


Maybe they have different sources for the news.
Actually one was to be told today and the other tomorrow.

Can you imagine it?

Using the Gamepad as an extremely useful map, where you could even take notes (sinked ship here, sharks there, etc) as well as using it as an underwater camera to take the required pics of fishes, etc.

And in HD and with better animations (for our character, not the animals that were great)... WHY HAVEN'T YOU ANNOUNCED IT ALREADY, NINTENDO?!

Imagine, if a shark ram you, you could move the gamepad towards the shark, and thrust it dowards the shark to punch it's nose!

As I said, it's not two different days. It's two different timezones. It's currently coming up on 1 AM in Queensland, Australia, which means it is now "tomorrow" in Australia, as far as the Aussie-Gamer tweet is concerned.

Or gently rub the screen of the Gamepad to simulate that you are scratching a fish... hmm, I could see that used for a very japanish kind of game ^.^

Maybe Rich knows that Nintendo will either announce a N-Direct or have a N-Direct even today. That would make my day today or even some noteworthy announcement.
