I think it was unlikely to begin with. If Nintendo had managed to secure a GTA V release, they'd be keeping it ready for a big announcement, it wouldn't go through IGN.
Same reasoning can be applied to any other big franchise announcement. This is "substantial", not "major". I'd say the biggest franchise that it could conceivably be is Sonic... or maybe something from Valve. Anything bigger, and Nintendo would want to announce it for themselves, or to really hype it up ahead of time. The only exception to this would be late ports - I could, for instance, see it being Final Fantasy XIII for Wii U, as it's an older game. Resident Evil 5 would also be a contender. But I don't think it'll be such late ports.
