Forums - Gaming - Dead Space 3: EA Cherry Picks High Scores, Claims 91 Average

I never wanted a game to flop so badly.

Can't trust reviews that you haven't paid for! That's what my grandmother always says.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

They're obviously just as tired of Metacritic averages as we all are.....so they took matters into their own hands. You asked for this, gamers!

This. Well played EA.

Well I liked Joystiqs take on the game. It looked to me that the single-player segment of the game is pretty badass

It's exactly the same as DS2 without the scary allucinations... or any scare at all for that matter. Less even than the difference between two Call of Duties.

It still seems like a decen survival game. For me the DS series was more like RE past the 4th one. Decent thriller/survival, but nothing more. It never had the crzy scary factor like SH or Sirene...

On retrospect the first and the second DS had their scary moments though... more than RE5 at least. In DS3 there are some good things they could have used to amp up the horror, but in the end these ideas fell flat.

I really believed Dead Space 3 would stick to its roots and provide another brutal ass horror experience, but it seems I was wrong. It's pretty upsetting. There's such a shortage of traditional survival horror games. They all end up transforming into COD clones in an attempt to make an extra buck, even though that never really works (see RE: 6). Guess I'll be picking this one up in the bargain bin.

Too bad. Yeah agree with the scary part, I mean they where on par IMO with RE4 on scarry level. Not OMGIJUSTSHATMYSELF scarry, but still good. Never the less, do you recon it would be a good buy at a bargain price? Is the lenght at least the same ( meaning pretty decent by todays standards ).

Why is everyone ignoring the obvious that EA just isn't any good at maths?

This has more merit than some might expect. They recently revealed that they think 13+1 = 25.

Don't forget that 1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1 = 4 in EA World.

Still going to platinum the game. I'll reserve my judgement until i finish the game.

Bet with ninjablade:

Ninjablade wins if the next 5 multiplat on the wii u are inferior to the 360 version.

I win if one of the 5 mulitplats are on par or superior on the Wii U.

Yes, the game has a pretty decent length, although I recon you can rush through with microtransactions and avoiding the side quests. You are looking at... mmm... some nine hours of single player, perhaps.

Like I said before, the game feels pretty much the same as DS2... meaning the gameplay is good, so despite the lack of freshness, it's still better than most stuff you'll find out there.

Oh yeah, and the plot is a bit better than DS2, but characters still suffer from chronic cutscene incompetence and whatever.
