The always online part kind of sucks. I mean it's not a problem for me because I always have an internet connection but it could be a problem for some people.

Guess I'm not buying the next xbox then. I keep my consoles at the other end of my home.
edit: If it is true of course, which I don't think it will be.
Always online would be Silver, surely. They cant force you to go Gold. Unless they drop the stupid Gold thing alltogether and make it free online. Hmm...
I dont care about the used games thing.

I seriously doubt MS would be stupid enough to this. Probably just started this rumour to see the re-action.
Saying that if this second-hand games issue is indeed true then that's a breaker for me.
I buy new games and if I don't like some of them I can part exchange them later for others.
I hate the fact that I can buy a £60.00 game, be disappointed with it, but be stuck with it.
For people on limited budgets there is no more "taking a chance on a game" to see if you might like it or not.
You better read the reviews and be sure to like it before you buy it.
To me that is totally different than shelling out a few pounds for downloadable games and not being too bothered if it was a waste of money.
I believe that second-hand games does the industry more good than bad, as millions of people trade in old games to aid the purchase of new ones. The same way used cars for example are sold to finance new ones.
It seems to me to be a healthy cycle. Why change that?
Well there is no chance of me buying one, if this is true. This sorta thing should be illegal! Always online?- what about people with bad or no internet? No used games?- such a crazy idea, this is like a death sentence to the Xbox!
Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

justinian, I agree with you, but we know they (especially publishers) would LOVE that to happen,and like I´ve said..I don´t believe this is true...for now.
6 or 7 years from now, when the 9th generation starts, is when I really see something like that being implemented.
Breaking news from "Sources with first-hand experience" of the console... it's obviously not going to happen.

~~~~ Mario Kart 8 drove far past my expectations! Never again will I doubt the wheels of a Monster Franchise! :0 ~~~~
Yeah MS can kiss my ass if this is true, no way I would buy it.
But at the same time, no way is it true.
If this 'always online' is true, it´s probably not like some people are thinking, the system would not have to be online all the frickin time, just when you have to activate a code for your game (goes hand in hand with the no used games rumor).
It´s still terrible, so if that happens then the price for games better go down significantly.
I don't know, no used games would be good because it would finally topple Gamestop's evil empire.
