I seem to recall a time when online in general was said to be a no go on consoles so online most if not all the time doesn't seem that much of a stretch tbh Steam for most part is online even though once registered you can play your games offline. For me it's the second hand prevention I doubt as both consumers and retailers will react to that more then being online for most part.

Consider the following: how many potential customers do not have an internet connection - or even if they do, how many will have the available bandwidth to have a console online all the time (especially people with capped limits) - Microsoft would not limit their customer userbase with such a method.

always online + live still monthly cost sounds like a console subscription to me. Like, if you don't pay for gold, you literally have a brick under your TV.

I hope this is not true, otherwise, I will go for PS4 and start to believe PS4 is really getting its chance to dominate in next gen.

If one between Sony or MS don't implement blockages for second-hand games. The other who does it, is absolutely screwed.
