If anyone can read Japanese, there is an update on http://www.lepton.ne.jp/ about the Smash Bros shortage.

This is a bad new, they only limited the sales of the game

Found a pic on another site reporting the same issue, even Wii fit didn't had this kind of ques considering it's pre-order time!

No everyone who wanted it will still buy, Nitnendo is more concerned about not losing money

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

As much as I want to defend Nintendo, they really should be doing better.

Well now am I ever glad I pre-ordered Brawl in June or earlier of 2006!  I foresaw shortages way back in the day and checked every week to make sure I was one of the first to pre-order it. I know I must be within the first 10 to pre-order from my local EBGames!

That should guarantee me a copy launch day regardless of Nintendo's lack of manufacturing capabilities. I mean Nintendo has performed poorly as far as providing software and hardware to the masses, but I expected that. Since day one I have pre-ordered any game that I planned to own within a month of launch.

I camped out for my Wii and would expect everyone else to do the same if they haven't pre-ordered their copies yet. Go to a retailer that doesn't take pre-orders and camp out!

Fact is who is dumb enough not to have pre-ordered by now?

Me, I usually don't pre order games until about 3 days before release to avoid delays. I hope I can still get it ...

It's another one of those "supply constrained" situations in the making! Damn you Nintendo!

I jest. But could they really be that crafty?
