Really? on here an gaf I saw a lot of people claiming otherwise as compared to other rpgs.

Yeah, people like pretty waterfalls. Lighting and textures all just look OK. The scale is great and we should see some nice improvements before its 
released but it doesn't look anymore next gen than Red Dead or Skyrim does. 

Odd that well over 90% of the posts in the gaf thread and the one here said the exact opposite of you, well except for one guy here. Sure there was mention of bad water, etc, but that was shrugged off as this is still very early build while the rest was clearly above current gen.

People were excited, Nintendo fans were excited and gaf loves to overreact.(and no, 90% did not say it looked next gen) I guess the only real way to prove if X is a graphical powerhouse by next gen standards is to come back when Fallout 4 is out or whatever open world games we start seeing on PS4-720  and compare.

C'mon man, it may not look like what you expect of next gen but it had and shoulders above Skyrim and Red Dead in terms of lighting, textures and draw distance.. It looks like a high end PC game. But yeah, I agree that I don't think that game should act as an indicator of what we'll see for ps4/720 in terms of open world RPGs. I suspect even the worst looking next gen games will be a few notches ahead of the standard we see coming from the wii U.

Oh yeah, its ahead of Skyrim and Red dead in a lot of areas, though lighting still goes to Red Dead from what i have seen (GTA5 is even better)

The game looks nice and should get some improvements before its out. But a graphical powerhouse? Nope. 

For the consoles that are currently available? Yes! lol

To the people saying this wont look better then Crysis your kidding yourselfs.


We'll see when games made on this engine come out. I doubt it will look as good as Crysis 1. The flat surfaces where there should be pebbles (no Tesselation whatsoever) and the few and not very detailed trees prove my point. All it's got going for it now is lighting and volumetric clouds/mist. But they're only on par with Crysis 1.

Your looking at a very small image. Have you even played The Witcher 2 on Ultra settings on PC??. That game looks better then Un modded Crysis. This game will more then likely look much much better then The Witcher 2, Im expecting the kinda jump from the first witcher to the 2nd one with this game.

Anyway like i said Anyone who thinks this wont look better then Crysis is kidding themselfs.

Well your entitled to your opinion. You still didnt answer if you played The Witcher 2 on Ultra settings. Bah even duo i have a very good feeling you didnt i know you will prob say you did anyways. so i guess its pointless even asking.

Anyway this isnt about crysis its about CD Prokect Reds next game so yea good luck with your agenda.

He said a few pages back that he has not played Witcher 2.   He said he has seen it though.  Lol.

Well then that explains it lulz.

So pretty much any other point he makes about Crysis un modded looking better then the Witcher 2 is invalid from this point on lulz .

But i think he was just arguing for the sake of arguing lulz.

So because I haven't played Witcher 2 my opinion about a low res screen doesn't count? O.K.

what? only things are better looking than this are games that run on max settings on the pc, this looks alot better than skyrim on pc as well

This is my Skyrim.
Bethesda is just a bunch of lazy money hungry Xbox Fanboys.The PC Version didn't look much better than the 360 Version at all.
But suddenly 2 weeks after the Mod support was enabled this did happen...Weird...are some fans better than Bethesda and can achieve such things in just 2 weeks?Give those fans please the UE4,CryEngine3 and other stuff if they are that good.

They are a PC Company.The Console Version of Witcher 2 didn't even reach the Low Settings of the PC Version.
They said they will ALWAYS go max out on PC and that is their main platform.The NextGen Consoles won't reach anywhere near to current PC possibilities.
IF(the important word cause Crytek lied to the PC Community too with Crysis2 and now 3) they stay true to their words you can be happy you will see Maxed out Witcher 2 Settings on NextGen Consoles.Maybe if they are gods Low Settings of the new games.
The PC is jumping right now massive steps especially with all those new engines coming out.Not even the PS4 will be able to keep up especially not in the early days when no one can max out the new console hardware.This will take years before we see a game that is using 50% of the new power.
PC always has the option to get  maxed out with ease.
