Forums - Gaming - Is Kinect 2 going to kill Nintendo's chances this coming generation?

I have played some of the kinect games... Kinect 2 will have to be so very much better to interest me. The first version was dangerous to play two player, was not very responsive (a lot of hyper-extension and exaggerated movements) and gross motor skill is never as good as fine motor skill.

That's wrong, but it's still my point . If no one is going to use it in WiiU's controller, will it matter?

Compared to how many games don't put the motion feature in the spotlight, it's pretty right.

It would matter to Nintendo, that's their star of the show for the Wii U. I don't get why you asked that, though.

What can it do different? Been there done that. That is a casuals motto.

By that line of reasoning, the whole "smartphones will take over gaming" thing should play itself out any day now. Right?

Actually it kind of happened already (literally the been there done that moment is done). In 2010 - 2011 the dramatic shift from online facebook gaming (previous casual gaming fad) to smartphone gaming and Angry Bird's rise was the "smartphones will take over gaming" moment that was dreaded. It wasn't as bad as everyone (critics) expected simply because nothing can trump console gaming (at least for now).

Smartphone gaming is currently not as big but there's always a smartphone game release that gets popular every couple of months. In mid to late 2012 it was "Temple Run", now it's "Ruzzle".

The casual gaming market is in limbo right now until the next big fad takes over so, they're just lingering between smartphone gaming, Kinect, & PSMove. It'll come though, and will be predicted as the killer to console gaming

Personally the next gen will be the last for consoles as we know it. Cheap games will kill the market and consoles will become obsolete and overtook by tablets

Why the games are cheap on the Tablets etc thats there downfall there just that eg there "cheap" they cant deliver the in depth  exprience and story type gameplay that consoles can provide and thats why they wont take over from consoles. In my eyes Tablet gaming is somthing for sooking 5-7 year old kids on a road trip that you throw at them 2 shut them up for a hour or 2.
