Wow, someone actually went and made a thread like that, and in 2012? O_o
I guess no desktop .txt files needed, lol.
That's going to be a fun thread to go through. Thanks for the link.

looking at the situation i'd disagree. i'd go with both because, Sony know they screwed up, but MS knows that Sony sprints well. noble? we are talking about a 10m unit lead that's now down to 1.6 or so, so both companies need to be worried about the other. we are not talkign about loses my friend. we are talking about the long run, and once Sony started outselling 360 ww, they never stoped, and that's the main reason the first is just as true as the second. |
Whoa whoa whoa, buddy... let's get the numbers straight here. The gap started at around 5.5 million, not 10 million. And it actually increased to about 8 million at one point at it's maximum before the PS3 finally had big price cuts and more core game releases to cut that down over the last 4-5 years (of which MS has not cut the price at all).

We dont even know if it was an actual Microsoft insder that said that to CVG. |
better tell the guy who made a thread about it
“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Well, maybe because Sony adverts phones, computers, TVs, playstation consoles (2-3 at the same time), cameras, camcorders, movies, bluray players...
As a whole, Sony's marketing budget may be bigger than MS's, but what are the marketing budgets of SCE and X360's from MS EED ?

Some PR guy responds to a competitors announcement, that doesn't mean they feel hurt or threatened, it's just common practice. The posts in this thread are pretty desperate. |
So it hurts you too
"Victory will go not to those who make the most noise, but those who make the most impact".
Good thing Sony does both.

A "Microsoft insider" speaking to CVG has responded to Sony's next-generation tease. This unnamed person said future platform supremacy will be awarded to the company with the most substance, not the most flash.
"Victory will go not to those who make the most noise, but those who make the most impact," this person said.
In addition, a Sony insider told the site that the company is not focusing on outperforming the Xbox 720 in terms of raw power. Previous reports suggested the PS4 and Xbox 720 would be feature the same graphics card.
"The war won't be won by producing the most powerful system," the person said.
Sony last night invited gamers to "see the future" of the PlayStation brand on February 20 at 6 p.m. EDT. The company will hold an event in New York City that evening where the PlayStation 4 is to be revealed, if a report from The Wall Street Journal proves accurate.
