As a big Fire Emblem fan I considered buying a 3DS for this when it came out last year. However, it's been converted into a fanservicey-game more than any other in the series and it just didn't feel right. Also seeing the DLC fest it has become has really put me off from it. I might buy it when I get a 3DS for Pokemon XY, it will probably be in the 1000 yen bin by then too.

clearly you don't know Nintendo games.  They are never in the bargain bin.

What are you basing Fanservicey on?  All I've heard is how great the gameplay and new mechanics are in this game.  The cg videos seem nothing special.  nor battle stuff.  nothing that wasn't already seen on the Wii.  Obviously its a huge step up in terms ofhandheld fire emblems in graphics, but what does graphis or movies have to do with fanservicey?

or what is it that is fanservicy about this game that you would wait on it.  Don't let this turn into a Xenoblade for you.  I have ot pay $100 for xenoblade cause i hadn't been paying attention to games for like half a years or so and totally missed its release here and had to buy it for some rediculous price cause nintendo skipmed on shipments.  I hear the fire emblem for Wii is also expensive to get right now.

Sorry, I should have made myself more clear, I meant used game price. Go to a second-hand games shop in Japan and you will see plenty of Nintendo games for dirt cheap. It's a pretty big trade, and the kids love it since its so price friendly.

As for fanservice, I meant the conversion to a moechara gal-game, not mechanics or 3D graphics. For instance, a level where characters fight in swimsuits.

This is Fire Emblem, and this is definitely quite a deviation from Nintendo's old practices.

As I recall this is just a DLC released under "Summer of Bonds" or something similar. It's a completely optional chapter which wasn't actually released until months after the actual game, and was indeed done as "fanservice" so that players can just talk to all of the characters freely with minimal threat from battles.

In addition, only 4 characters (the ones voted for by the Famitsu public; I can only recall Chrom and Sumina at this time) wear the swimsuits, in addition to Anna.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Two reviewers seem to have given the game perfect scores, and the lowest score so far seems to be higher than the aggregate score of black and white 2.

Damn, they're really being kind to this game!! Gotta try it out later on!

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Most 3DS games make me ask: "Do I really want to spend $40 on this?"

This one, I think I'd pay $60 for.
