Honestly don't get the big deal around this game. Gameplay looks tedious and boring. Presentation is the only thing that wows me...

have u ever played a fire emblem game?...the gameplay is super fun and exciting. the more ur characters level up and the stronger ur weapons get through classes the more awesome the kills :D....

As a big Fire Emblem fan I considered buying a 3DS for this when it came out last year. However, it's been converted into a fanservicey-game more than any other in the series and it just didn't feel right. Also seeing the DLC fest it has become has really put me off from it. I might buy it when I get a 3DS for Pokemon XY, it will probably be in the 1000 yen bin by then too.

Post the actual review as well and make this the review thread.

9.6 out of 10!

My thread not good enough or something?

It is a very good score though, more people should try the series.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

That was quite a good review. I like Audrey as a reviewer. She brings a little Nintendo-loving to IGN.

And what great score!

personally, i hate her cuz she called pokemon "monsters" in her review like 10 times lol...but w.e i just like reviews for information mainly xd

Well, they are called "Pocket Monsters" in Japan.

clearly you don't know Nintendo games.  They are never in the bargain bin.

What are you basing Fanservicey on?  All I've heard is how great the gameplay and new mechanics are in this game.  The cg videos seem nothing special.  nor battle stuff.  nothing that wasn't already seen on the Wii.  Obviously its a huge step up in terms ofhandheld fire emblems in graphics, but what does graphis or movies have to do with fanservicey?

or what is it that is fanservicy about this game that you would wait on it.  Don't let this turn into a Xenoblade for you.  I have ot pay $100 for xenoblade cause i hadn't been paying attention to games for like half a years or so and totally missed its release here and had to buy it for some rediculous price cause nintendo skipmed on shipments.  I hear the fire emblem for Wii is also expensive to get right now.

Sorry, I should have made myself more clear, I meant used game price. Go to a second-hand games shop in Japan and you will see plenty of Nintendo games for dirt cheap. It's a pretty big trade, and the kids love it since its so price friendly.

As for fanservice, I meant the conversion to a moechara gal-game, not mechanics or 3D graphics. For instance, a level where characters fight in swimsuits.

This is Fire Emblem, and this is definitely quite a deviation from Nintendo's old practices.

Hmm didn't know at all about that swimsuit part.

Well good luck on the used price.  Some nintendo games aren't so lucky.  Looking at gamestop.com not a single fire emblem game is available.  Mario and so on bigger nintendo games are easy to get used, but these more "niche" games I wouldn't risk it.  Though since this is going to be digital as well, you should be fine

Audrey is too lenient, she even gave Pokemon Black 2 a 9.6, so her reviews are losing any integrity they ever had, but I'll give her the benefit of the doubt here since I freaking love Fire Emblem.

Whats wrong with Black/White 2.  All i've heard is how they are th best in the series by far.  And that's following white/black which was seen as amazing as well.

Or are you one who thinks pokemon games should be all rated 7 cause they are the same as 20 years ago just new pokemon?

I own both Black and Black 2. The truth of the matter is the game didn't even need to be made as there's not that much in terms of new content in it and the story was non-existant, but It's still a fun game. People constantly disparage CoD and Fifa for annually taking advantage of the consumer, but even Blops 2 and Fifa 13 introduced more to their respective series than Black/White 2.

http://www.metacritic.com/game/ds/pokemon-black-version-2 Also she gave it the highest score out of every critic and was a whopping 16 off the aggregate. This time it's not so bad as someone gave Fire Emblem a perfect score and genuinely looks to be an excellent title.
